If they are my parents, they would suffer for the rest of their lives if they see their child die before them, it would be more painful for them than it would be for me to live without parents. So out of courtesy to them I would let them die. I would do the same for my children.

If they were random people then no I wouldn't die for them.

 

So basically, your reasoning for letting them die is assuming they won't get on with their lives after your death?

 

For certain people, yes. Take my bestfriends for example.

For random people, my parents, or my brothers, No. those fuckers can die.

Simply because my life is in order, and dying wouldn't be such a tragedy. But those other people, they need to get another shot at life.
