Would you die to save the lives of two others?

If i personally knew the people and had reason to believe they deserve to live instead of me then i'd be all for it, but in the heat of the moment you don't think and your own survival is probably more vital.

For a VERY special friend, I'd do it. Definitely.

 

for all those people saying family only noone else etc.

if 2 little children were about to die and you could prevent it knowing that it will take your life will you do it? or will you stand cowardly and watch them die with there blood splattering all over your body and there dead lifeless corpses ragdolled in front of you with pieces landing on your face. would you really not do anything?

 

I value my life above the life of anyone else, as stated earlier. It is my life and I will do anything to preserve it from premature death.

I would not do anything - as said, I value my life more than that of someone else regardless of age, gender or otherwise.

Well first off I'll start off with this is a very bias question. You have no idea who the two other people are, you don't know what situation they're in, their age group, and so on, and I couldn't really awnser the question with 100% assurance that what I am saying is true, because there's a lot of variables in this. Next time make your thread a bit more detailed.

 

I would if there were my girlfriend and my best mate. Just them two.

 

Hell yeah. It's the only way I'd make it into heaven, if such a thing exists. I would do this regardless of who it was. But I'd do it especially for a loved one.

This isn't a mathematical equation. The fact of the matter is this: It is a choice between my life or two others. If I am the one making the decision, I will choose my life. End of story.

 

Eitherway, I still would if it were two decent people.

 

I am glad to see SOME honesty in this thread. When it came to it, I doubt most people would die for anyone else other than their close friends or family. Otherwise, to say that you would die for two people you may not know very well would just be affirming ones self-image, making them self seem righteous. Of course there are exceptions to this, valiant people who would truly die for people, but they are rare.

I know people consider this sick and selfish, but it is simply self-preservation, so that you may strive to accomplish more.

Now, question #2:
For those of you who answered "yes I would," and are religious, would you still do it if you knew there was no afterlife?

 

Any two honest people are worth more then my life, but I don't value my life above those in my family. I would take a bullet for them anyway of the week.

 

Ex. if u take the bullet for someone and u die. y would the killer not kill the others? is there a point to ether side u chose.

 

That's not the question. The OP is wondering if there was a situation in which you could sacrifice yourself so two others would live, would you do it?

I wouldn't. I value my live above everybody elses. The only people I would even consider doing it for would be family/friends

 

It really comes down to the people you are sacrificing yourself for, for most people. This in itself is selfish, because it shows that you really don't care about the person, but more about whether you think they DESERVE it or not.

 

Thats not the point. Yeah that could be the situation but we are just thinking about essentially you sacrificing yourself for the sake of two others lives. We aren't getting too specific.

If I was in a situation where there were two other people with me and a guy was about to blow us away I would go down with a fight instead of uselessly wasting my life for them.>_<
