    Recovering from a lure

So today I was stupidly lured and although its meant me loosing about 95% of my cash. I have to say the lure was quite clever and honestly I never saw it coming to me until it happened and now im just looking for any advice to pick up on and get back into the game, otherwise I can see myself quitting because of the event.

Write a guide about the lure method they used (if it isn't publicly known) and sell in the Runescape guides section :)

I'd rather not ruin the game for others and play the game normally instead of stealing from others.

Buy gold, Or go to duel arena and try to get lucky (are your fast methods). Or just rebuild with the same methods as before.

Honestly, if you have the ambition to say "it was quite cleaver" i don't think you have much concern for the game anymore, perhaps quitting would be best for you. The only thing i can suggest is doing what you did to make your cash in the first place.

I do admire your choice not to retaliate by doing the same thing they did to you, although it is only a game that shows a lot of character.

Whatever you choose to do i wish you luck!

I've never been lured, but a couple of my good friends in RS have told me detailed stories that are very similar to yours. They trusted somebody, got tricked in a way that was shockingly clever, and lost the majority of their bank in one fell swoop.

Getting lured can be a big reality check for some people, and I honestly feel bad for a lot of the young, naive kids playing the game who don't realize how many ruthless predators use the internet for things like this, and will take everything from you in the blink of an eye without even a hint of remorse. It can be a very tough lesson to learn for some people, and I really do have sympathy for you :(

Don't let it break you though. Pick yourself back up and rebuild your bank and your character slowly. Don't let some asshole on the other side of the screen ruin your entire gaming experience for you. Just remember that in the end, it is just pixels and this game is supposed to be about having fun. Try to find new things in the game to keep you interested and excited, and maybe check out some of the new updates. Also - be wary of who you trust in the future. It is a sad, bitter reality, but you really cannot trust a godamned person on the internet.

    Don't lure ever.

It's completely immoral and it doesn't solve anything.

For me it was actually a reality check as you said and made me realise that I should just take this game in its stride and just let anything that happens pass by and carry on through it.

As after I was lured myself I looked at several youtube videos from people being lured and hacked, etc. and seeing the reactions of some players screaming and losing control and then others crying and quitting made me be thankful that I wasn't like that and so I shall be carrying on as you do and enjoy the game. >_<

    Don't give up!

    1) Use the same methods you used to build your bank
    2) Buy some RSGP from Sythe members
    3) Stake whatever you have in your bank right now; you might get lucky!

Luring is part of the game, its some peoples form of income. The best advice i can give you is never take out your entire bank for any reason.

Frankly im appalled that sythe even allows/supports luring, i think lying and being deceitful for monetary/rsgp gain is something that can very easily and DOES transcend the browser tabs. Note all the people in support of luring who are banned for scamming it just blows my mind and i have considered leaving the site several times because of it. Regardless gambling staking and luring are all high risk things that could and more than likely will discourage you from playing all together if you fail, i suggest you just slay and have fun at 70+ slayer its fairly easy to make 1-10+m a day casually slaying. pretty big variable i know but its soooo much better than grinding away at one thing imo

How is luring like scamming at all?

I don't understand... I've been the target of a large number of lures (e.g. people asking me to have interviews with them..... in the Wilderness lol), but I could spot them a mile off as soon as I had to bring anything valuable into an area which I could be killed. Especially if the person(s) who are telling me to do this are RS players who I do not know in real life. It cannot get simpler than this...

What sort of "complex" lures are there? Can someone link me to a well known public method that could be considered remotely "clever/complex" and could not be foiled by what I said above?

I have never been lured in my entire rs career, although i have been scammed though. You should never bring your ENTIRE bank to a place where there is a slight chance that you might die and you can not get your items back. I wonder sometimes how are people stupid enough to fall for these lures? But I did see some videos of them on YT and saw that they pretty complicated and pretty well thought out.
