What's everyone's opinion of the 2016 race so far? In my opinion, the spotlight on the republican nomination has been pretty toxic: a lot of fear mongering, ad hominems, etc. Also, if Trump gets the GOP nomination, the dems get handed the White House

 

Hoping Hilary doesn't win.

Interesting as this will be the first election I can vote as well

I really don't care for any of the candidates. Stricter immigration laws would be favorable, but not to the extreme Trump has taken it. As for Hillary, I haven't looked into any of her positions enough to comment. Not overly excited for this election.

 

Echoing this sentiment, also don't really care for the GOP candidate as long as it's not Trump.

 

I don't know their name but someone suggested building a wall across the northern boarder.

I hope bernie sanders gets in I honestly think hes the only sane one in this running. As far as trump is concerned, he is a complete psychopath, I've actually hung out with his son who is equally if not more psychotic than he is.

 

Unions are definatly not bad, they are corrupted but they provide jobs and keep jobs secure. But my fathers business before a union was struggling after they switched to a union they became a multi-million dollar company and the minimum wage for his workers were raised to $20. They do good things even if they are money grubbing dicks. Even if we don't need unions right now still having them around assures protection from the abuse going on in the 30's.

Hes not against international trade hes against free trade (TPP) to be exact, which is a shitstorm. It further buries the american worker in a world where you have to compete against literal slave labor.

I don't know much about financial speculation but I do know that countries with a larger minimum wage do better economically as a whole than countries that don't. China does well but look at the state of their people. They make about 322 usd a month as minimum wage. (Luxembourg has around $13/usd(converted) a month minimum wage which increases on different types of jobs and is doing really well. They made 2nd richest recently.)

 

Not from US, so opinion probably wont matter, but from what I've seen, clinton+trump shouldnt be elected.

 

if trump wins, American crumbles, same with Hilary or jeb bush, the states are fucked
