They are protecting there power. They could careless about the people.

They aren't protecting thier communities, they are protecting their power.

How could you say they don't do "terrifying" acts against the civilians? Have you read the list of rules under Taliban law in Afghanistan? Their punishments for the smallest things, such as being a woman in public alone, is public humiliation and being stoned to death in the streets.

The book "The Kite Runner" tells alot about Taliban law.

    True.

I meant the legal definition of terrifying, meaning terrorist activities. I agree with you that Islamic society is much to strict on women and their punishments are very anti-humanitarian. However, the same punishments are used for the same crimes on people in Saudi Arabia, or ally which is considered a "civilized" country.

Also, I am sure some Taliban factions care more about their power than their people and I am sure there is much corruption. I was just stressing what the Taliban originally were, as everyone seems to believe they are more like Al-Qaeda and a terrorist organization then anything else.

So a soldier can't bring terror upon people?

I'd be pretty terrified if I was one of these civilians.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Granai_airstrike

Which members of Saddam's government were held there?

David Hicks had nothing to do with 9/11...

Is your justification now that everyone else is doing it?

    My reasoning is this.

Members of the taliban are either criminals or enemy combatants. If they are criminals, when taken to America they should be granted a free trial. If they are enemy combatants, they should be detained under the Geneva Convention.

Ah, I'm trapped you won, have a cookie *gives a cookie*

    ON-TOPIC

There really isn't nothing to discuss anymore, as someone stated before on this thread, NKorea can participate on the World Cup, because the plain idea of world cup is same as in Olympics; to bring together lots of people from different countries to compete in sports against eachother, regardless of their political situation.

They aren't taken to the USA, Guantanamo is off the coast of Cuba. The United States have no jurisdiction there. Which is why we were aloud to torture them.

Supreme Court ruled in 2006 they weren't protected under the Geneva Convention.

A lot of countries have done very very horrible things.

But I do not see how this relates to the sport soccer in anyway.

It's not off the coast of Cuba.

Again, why are you happy for your government to rule itself able to violate treaties it is a signatory of?

We are not having this argument. Look at the map you posted. It is clearly not off the coast.

Torture is a violation of the Geneva convention for the treatment of prisoners of war.

You have to find something to argue about in everything.

They aren't prisoners of war. The Supreme Court said so.

I'm not the one claiming Guantanamo Bay is an island.
