Hard to believe that this could happen so close to home. This is only a couple hours away from me. It is crazy looking at the guy's Facebook profile and reading some of the status updates he has had in the past few days.

May the three RCMP members who died last night RIP. Let us hope thag this guy can be caught as soon as possible. A large portion of Moncton is shut down today until he is caught.

Are Canadian gun laws similar to US ones?

 

Not really, no. I'm no expert on gun laws but as far as I know in Canada the only guns you're supposed to have are those used to hunt. You might be allowed to collect but I'm not sure.

 

Very very very difficult to collect. To even begin collecting you must already have a rare legal gun pretty much and you entire family has to have good standing with the police. Note this is for handguns, automatics ect. Hunting rifles just require a 4 day course.

 

Whatever Canada is doing is definitely working other than a few instances.
