Is it too late to start wow?

I never played wow and i was wondering if its too late too start?

 

Definitely not.. But you've missed the golden age of WoW for most people.

The game in its current state is catering to casual play rather than the hardcore vanilla and Burning Crusade expansion.

Coming into the game now is easier than it has ever been. Leveling time has been cut down and made somewhat enjoyable. Your first time leveling will probably be one of the most enjoyable experiences ever, seeing and experiencing for the first time is amazing.

Gearing up doesn't take too long, but is rather monotonous. You gear up doing heroics (Heroic versions of 5-man dungeons) and receiving badges which are currency for gear. After heroic gear, you can move on to 10 and 25 man raids which drop gear relevant to the difficulty.

PvP in the game is very burst-damage oriented. Especially while you're leveling. Some classes have it better than others, as the balance isn't quite perfect.

You've picked a great time to consider starting.. All elements are in your favor, except the cost of expansions maybe

 

WoW is too easy and if you start now you'll be raiding heroics in month or a two.

It's not a great time to start leveling a new character if you ask me. By the time you're leveled to 80 and in good raiding gear (2+ months) the Cata beta will be out and most people will have canceled their subscriptions until it launches.

 

Yes sorry to say it is too late, any challenging aspects of the game have been ruined and replaced with a substitution fitted for idiots...

Tbh, Play a REAL Pre-BC Server, (1.12.1) Then play Regular wow to get the full effect, it was a lot better back then. A 95% Blizzlike server is VanillaGaming.org. Almost perfect server, only a few bugs. I quit around 3.1 so Idk whats going down with Cataclysm, but I heard that they were making it so you can use flying mounts in Kalimdor / Eastern Kingdoms so gl Leveling with all the ganking.

 

In my opinion, don't start at this point. Wait for a new mmo and start from the beginning. The whole fun in mmo's is playing with other people, everywhere up to 80 is a wasteland. You have whole areas to yourself. Very boring imo.

Look into teraonline and final fantasy 14. I'm looking forward to both those games. I don't plan on getting cataclysm, and I stopped playing wow about 2 months ago.

Pretty much. You are definitely going to want an 80 before the expansion hits, because once it does you'll end up being left behind. In addition to that, try and find a good guild to be in as well, so that you have some people to tackle the new content with together.

 

It's never too late but I suggest playing with a friend or joining a good guild because the lower levels can get lonely.

 

Exactly. Its probably the main reason I can never get an account up to even 60, cause by the time I hit 40 I'm bored out of my skull.

 

Never to late to start anything, just have fun when you start it.

 

It's actually the best time to start as you have several options to choose from to level to 80:

*Questing
*Dungeon Finder
*Battle Grounds

 

Battlegrounds is terrible experience. Questing is the best experience, mixed with dungeon finder.

 

Still a lot more enjoyable than questing...

 

Battlegrounds terrible xp? I laughed. Have you ever done the call to arms bg while leveling? Couple weeks ago when it was stand of the ancients I was getting ~200k+ xp a game for a win on my 70-79's, say a game lasts 15 minutes and that's a level in about two hours.

 

Nope its never too late. Like everyone stated above id find a friend or else you will get bored quick..
Quest while waiting on dungeon que's / battlegrounds works well for exp.
