    Wininet.dll Error please help

Ok, so as of yesterday i am getting a wininet.dll error after i had shut my pc down.

when i turned it on it starting getting a bunch of error pop ups and it all said wininet.dll is missing.

I have literally tried everything and have spent hours trying to fix this and i cannot fix it for the life of me.

Basically this is what is going on:

I have tried a startup repair and it did not fix it.
I tried reinstalling the DLL and when i put it back in the c:/windows/system32 i still get the error...i tried getting a better wininet.dll and when i go to paste it in the system32 folder, it says the program is running and cannot replace the file.

I have tried restoring the computer
    I tried running CCleaner
    Tried running disk clean
Tried installing fixing software but it wont let me install it
    Tried safe mode
Tried safe mode with command prompt
    Tried running a virus scan
    Tried malware scan

Nothing is working and im about ready to toss this pc out a window, what do i need to do? What have i missed if anything?

    Wininet.dll Error please help

I would just format your hard drive and install a new windows os on your computer. Probably the easiest way.
Im on my phone so i cant look into that exact problem very easily right now, but that is what iwould do.

Deletr the one you downloaded then Reinstall the programs that give you an error when you try to run it. Try that, it should put the file in there for you.

Startup in safe mode then delete it?
If that doesnt work, can you uninstall all the programs that give an error when you try to start them? That would be my step one.

You probably have some crazy virus on your computer. If you can find someone with a windoes disk i would just install a fresh copy. Usually 100 times easier to fix than going through that whole virus removal and all that.

If you can live with linux for a little while, those are free and you could have it up and running in about an hour including download time.

    Wininet.dll Error please help

iv done countless scans and still nothing, i think it happen yesterday when the power was shut off and it probably fried something, i have a cyberpower and the power supplies are known to have freezing problems which i had before this problem, my pc would freeze here and there and then it would be fine and then it would freeze again. so i would turn the pc off and then open the pc up and i would make sure everything was plugged in fully and that fixed the freezing problem for a while (usually 2-3 days then it would freeze again)

I believe problems like this can be caused by hardware issues.
Possibly your hard drive or ram is going bad, thats what i would check

Did you format your harddrive before you tried to install it?
I am 99% sure this is caused by a virus.

    Wininet.dll Error please help

Me too, i thought it was some new generation virus that really screwed up Pc's but after i copied the 2 folders from my brothers Pc (The System32 and sysWOW64) i manually went through everything and spent about 2 hours scrolling through everything checking the DLL's manually and i got it fixed finally after spending 3 days straight trying to fix this.
