Runescape Name Buyers! BE AWARE!

It has come to my attention that alot of the name sellers are complete fakes. They use a variety of different ways to "make" it look legit and real.

Here are just some things to look out for.

1.) Create a Account! URL Change.

Just 2 seconds ago I did this.



Looks real doesn't it? Well, it's not.
All they have done is changed the url. For example..



Can be turned into ..



JUST BY A CHANGE IN URL!
This can be used with many things, runescape inbox's, and others.


2.) Photoshop, the most common of scamming.

It may look real, it's not. Look: http://members.home.nl/maxthedragon/downloads.html


All you need to remember is to ask for INGAME proof.

Any scammer could edit a screenie easily, even if he's trusted. Even if somebody tells you he's legit, always ask for ingame proof. Now if you get scammed, and haven't read this, do so, and remember for future purposes.

Nice job on the find, I think I saw this on youtube once saying "i'm creating zezima omgomg" lol. But 2 things, I am guessing you save your files in paint, therefore saving them in .jpg format. Save them in .png for better quality when taking screenshots and posting them into paint. Also that link about the photoshopping doesn't work, it doesn't show much on the page. Again, nice. ^_^

EDIT: the photoshopping link does work, I just don't trust random downloads. ^_^

Its always good to ask them to post a picture of its stats and the character where it is standing.

 

The main thing is to ask for in-game proof.

 

VERY VERY nice guide I dont know if you should post it here or not but make another copy in the guide section or runescape cheating section.

 

erm, I wouldn't call this a guide..
Because thats encouraging others to do this and scam..
But I might think of putting this in another section

 

its not encouraging others to do this, its informing others that this is how people are selling fake names as a scam.
