Need opinions on this build

Build is not for me, a relative of mine is looking for a new pc and this is one I found to be relatively cheap and looks to be able to handle most current and near future games.

Opinions?

 

What price point are you going for?

That Mobo is very limited if you ever want to upgrade, i'd change the mobo to a m5a97 or 970-a for $10-20 more and a get an FX-6300, much better card for only $20 more. and i would add an SSD.

And who the heck buys a legit version of microsoft nowadays? lol.

Nothing else i'd change.

Also, i just noticed you put a r9 270 in the build instead of 270x, i think they're roughly the same price now but the 270x performs about 10-15% better.

 

Budget is #1 objective, performance is on the 2nd spot for this one.
The HDD has got a few gigs of flash memory in it, that's why I didn't add a SSD. It's not as good as a SSD, but this'll do.

The r9 270x is 20 euros more than this one, and for that 'minor' upgrade in performance it's not worth it.

mobo is also 30 euros more, so might not be worth it, considering the budget factor

 

Well whats the budget and what would your relative be doing on this?

Building a PC from that mobo is really restricting it since its only fm/fm2+

I didn't think it'd be so much more expensive for you but i guess you being international gets you higher price points... which sucks.
On Newegg the 270x and 270 are the same price in USD.

Pirated version of windows would free up some budget for the mobo & fx upgrade... Just sayin.

I have a spare windows dvd lying around, that's going to him, apparently forgot to take that off the list.

 

you should buy windows 8.1 pro from someone with a MSDN Subscriptions for like $5-10 and use the extra money to upgrade something else

 

Or just find a old laptop and pull a Windows 7 key off it.

How are you going to use a dvd without a dvd/cd drive?

I just thought there wasn't going g to be one. I don't have a media drive in mine because I use the cloud for file sharing. USB if I am feeling groggy, but I haven't used a cd drive in ages. Ask yourself when was the last time you used one? They are like floppy disks, obsolete.

If you're using a old media drive, then there are several other options you could chose to save more instead of building a whole new machine. You could use the same case. You could also use your current hard drive and you wouldn't have to worry about a new os in the first place. Unless you're operating on a machine from 2003 then you have ddr3 ram and your could get a smaller upgrade and match 8gb with one or two sticks for cheaper.

Do not get that video card with that cpu. You will bottleneck the video card so heavily. The 6300 is literatly 20$ more. And the 270x is 10$ more. Spend the extra 30$ and see at least a 15% overall system speed increase.

 

And if you do as xolr told you (like i said) dont forget to get a new motherboard that has am3+, you can find one for the same price as the motherboard you have listed already.

 

Yeah an am3+ would be the same price or cheaper.

 

The old HDD is being used as a backup, 320gb isn't enough for him.
Case is beat to shit and the powerunit is a 300 W IIRC

That's a good system. Only problem is you don't have the best prices available for some parts. But it's certainly worth that extra 30$ to get those two specific upgrade parts.

What I meant is use the 320gb for your os and some other storage and buy a 500gb for extra storage and you'll save money both on hard-drive and os.

 

Looks good, minus the windows 8.

Is there another site you can use to purchase from? Some of those parts should be cheaper.

 

This is one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest webshops available in the Netherlands.
I'm definitely going to try and find a cheaper one
