Will plugging a large monitor into my laptop make the screen bigger?

I currently have a pretty good i7 laptop which runs 6-8 runescape clients fine without lag.

    Specs: https://gyazo.com/0ce8514343cfce85e34fef84d6668017

However, it's a pain having to flick through screens as the laptop only physically fits 4 on the screen. I was thinking, if I got a large high quality monitor and plugged it into the laptop, is there any possible way I could fit more than 4 screens on the monitor, so I could fit maybe 6 on screen rather than 4.

I currently have my resolution on the highest setting (1920x1080). Any technology bro's out there please leave your opinion!

If the monitor is 12560x1440 yes, if it's 1920x1080 you are just increasing how big everything is, not the ability to view multiple osbuddy's at smaller sizes.

This sums it up quite well. A "bigger monitor" does not mean more space. What you need is a monitor capable of displaying a bigger resolution (1440, 4k, etc)

Just ensure your GPU is capable of displaying such a resolution prior to buying the monitor.

You need to get a monitor that has a higher resolution than 1920x1080. I suggest 1440p or even a 4k monitor. I believe with a 4k monitor you can have 16 rs clients open at once and be able to view them without scaling them down.

The previous post are correct, but here are a few options you might want to consider:

A simple 1440p monitor should do you fine, which is reasonably cheap. If you're looking at a screen purely for the ability to hold more Runescape windows; then you'll find this option the best.

This monitor is 4k, which allows the capability to keep plenty of Runescape screens open. These first few options are not necessarily ideal for gaming. They're for the purpose of holding the most screens at a reasonable price range, but they will look beautiful. You just won't have the newer G-Sync technology, refresh rate, and other qualities you would want out of a gaming monitor.

If you expect to find a G-Sync, high refresh rate, 1440p or 4k monitor, then you will want to do a lot of research. There are a lot of new options out in the market right now, and you begin getting into the price ranges that require a pretty penny. I just recently purchased a 1440p Predator X34, and I love it. But it cost me around $1300 USD. I believe all of these options combined begin pricing at around $600 USD and higher. Most of the 4k monitors don't support above 60Hz because it is relatively new technology. Below will be an example of a 4k monitor with G-Sync capabilities.

You might want to consider putting another 8gigs of ram in because you'll be able to run so many Runescape clients with a bigger screen.

My last piece of advice has already been mentioned, but I'll repeat it. Make sure your computer is capable of running at 4k before purchasing it. It depends on your GPU, which you don't have displayed in that screen shot. Without a strong GPU, you will not be able to run the monitors.

You can always plug in the second monitor and use that to display twice is many Runescape clients. This is dependent on the computer being able to not only handle displaying a second screen, but also running that many clients.

This. I was so focused on the "bigger screen" topic I blanked out and forgot to mention it. Add another monitor, and use it as a second display. You can then run your clients spanned across both monitors.

It doesn't work like that sadly, even if the monitor was very large but it had a resolution of 1080p it wouldn't make a difference, and if it was like 1440p or 4k it wouldn't be that much of a difference. You're best bet is using multiple cheaper high resolution monsters and spreading the clients out over them along with your laptop screen for easy use
