    Wide screen/Horizontal scroll bar

    Hey guys.

I always view Sythe.org zoomed in at 125%, and just about everything on the website fits inside my screen without having to scroll left and right with a horizontal scroll bar. This usually only occurs if the layout of a thread causes the screen to stretch wider, or if there is a big picture or something that stretches further than the edge of the screen etc.

While I was in the middle of browsing today, the site suddenly reloaded and every page seems much wider. I cannot view the column that shows the amount of posts/views, see the page numbers, or view a persons location/post-count etc. unless I grab the horizontal scroll bar and scroll it over. Its really annoying, and it just seemed to happen randomly and I can't figure out why o_O

I have a temporary fix of just zooming out the screen, but I don't want this to be permanent as it makes all the text/pics much smaller and is a bit harder to read. I talked to somebody else who said this was happening to them right now aswell, so hopefully its just a temporary problem with the site?

If somebody can help me, that would be great!

EDIT: If it makes a difference, I think the theme I usually browse in is NextGen Lite.

EDIT2: I have included pictures now, to show you what I am talking about.

Picture 1 - shows how the thread info unnecessarily extends off the page.

Picture 2 - Shows that the thread info & display seems to be what is pushing my whole screen over to the side.. noted by the giant black space above.

The big giant blue space in the middle (where I have included the text), is just a long, stretched out area that used to be much smaller so it would include the thread info & everything else inside on a single page. That space seems to be much longer now, and as a result it pushes everything off the edge of the page and forces me to either deal with scrolling horizontally constantly OR having to view Sythe in extremely small text just so everything fits on to one screen.

    Please help!

I'm not getting this, you haven't changed your resolution or done something to your browser settings or something?

No, nothing has changed at all. All my other browser windows are perfectly normal aswell, it is just Sythe.org that somehow "resized" itself. I might have clicked something accidentally, but I have no idea what that could have been. I was also chatting with Justundude on MSN when this happened and I asked him about it, and he also noticed that he was having the same problem (that the pages were suddenly wider and that he had a horizontal scroll bar).

    Weird =/

Looking at the sides they do seem wider, but there is still no bar at the bottom for me. What is your resolution?

I believe my screen resolution at the moment is the 1600 x 900 reccommended setting for my laptop.

Like I said, all other websites look exactly the same as they were before Sythe.org suddenly changed. Sythe is the only site that seems to have suddenly become altered in appearance.

Odd, mine is 1440x900 (beast) and it has always been wide for me with no scroll bar. Have you tried a different browser?

Yeah I tried loading up another browser and the text is just much smaller, the same result I can achieve on IE by just zooming out to 100% or less. Its really odd =/

I may try using another theme to see if its better, I just really hate having to scroll over and not being able to see the whole screen, as its really a bigger inconvenience than it sounds.

I hope its OK that I bump this... its been 3 days now of browsing Sythe zoomed out and it kinda sucks, everything is so tiny >_<

If anybody has a solution to this, please let me know! I used to browse in IE with my view zoomed in at %125 and it fit the screen perfectly. Now I have to browse in %105 or else it does not fit the entire screen, and I have to scroll horizontally left and right to be able to read a thread. :(

Try to do right click and check is everything okay.
If nothing happens, then try to click wiev or whatever you need to press in browser and reset zoom settings.
If still nothing - try to change your browser.
If still nothing - do system restore.

Like I told you on msn before I'm pretty sure it's the site.

I have this now and didn't have it before, let's wait for an admin to confirm?

Sometimes the bottom ads decide to do very funny things. The top ads don't change.

I actually didn't investigate that option before, and so I checked after I read your post and no, the bottom site ads are in fact MUCH smaller then the length of the screen, aswell as completely centered (so I do not see why it should affect anything).

I PM'd Govind right after I updated this thread though, and he responded within a few hours saying that it most likely has something to do with the site advertisements and that he would get back to me once he had some time to further investigate...

Thanks both of you for your posts, and thanks Govind for responding <3 :)

Excuse my lack of understanding but have you tried "CTRL + ALT" + "scroll thingy in the middle of some mouses"?

CTRL + ALT + scroll mouse doesn't work for me, but I believe you mean CTRL + scroll mouse (must vary on different computers), which simply just zooms out your browser. You can achieve the same thing by going to the top left of Internet Explorer > View > Zoom.

I used to have Zoom @ %125 and it worked perfectly for ALL webpages. Now, to browse Sythe.org without horizontally scrolling left to right, I have to have the page zoomed OUT at %105, or else I simply cannot see the whole page inside one scren.

Normally, I would assume that this was surely a problem with my own computer and not the website, except every single other webpage works just fine @ %125 Zoom, EXCEPT Sythe.

    It is so weird o_O

Sorry dude! I didn't mean to make you feel like your advice was unhelpful at all, in fact I really appreciate it :)

And no, but computer is not "old" by any means. I don't have the newest computer or the fastest, but it is relatively up to date as I bought it brand new this year.

If you have a bigger monitor / resolution you wouldn't notice this, that's why.
