Why Socialism (and Communism) Fails and why our society is being destroyed

Sythe, just curious but what are you opinions of the American government as it regards to many of its new socialistic policies?

Personally, I believe that capitalism is the way to go. Socialistic and communistic socieites have proven they cannot work.

The United States has military stationed in most of the world's countries, fights a "war" against certain species of foliage, suffers cronyism on a massive scale, and is crippled by thousands of other economic hinderances. Despite this, it retains a GDP almost $10,000 above Canada.

Obama never had a working man's job. Never went through labor which is why he spends so much money doesnt know the value of it. We need a democratic republican. Someone who deals with are social issues and can actully manage money, and i think we might have a fighting chance at acheiving something close to the goal.

 

I think you're missing the point here. A democratic society will (generally) carry with it a government to control the wealth and monopolise many sectors of society. With the proposed libertarianism, there would be no such control by one governing body; instead every man would be able to strike agreement with another, so long as both parties consent. What we need in all western societies is less of the wealth controlled by the government and more controlled by the individual. Obviously this only works in theory, as in the real world there always will exist evil, where one man believes they have more authority or control over another, and hence the proposed "individual freedom" is essentially overridden by these evil men.

As Sythe has mentioned many times, it is not 'evil' to want to have money. It is evil to hold a man to gunpoint and demand him to pay taxes and monopolise an outlook which a man could otherwise make a business of, purely to enslave man.

 

How can a single person efficiently govern millions?

On December 23, 1913 the 16th Amendment to the Constitution was made, turning the current burden you speak of here unto the citizens of the United States of America. With some diligence you may discover how easy this bill was to pass when most of the state reps. and congressmen were traveling by land and sea to be with their families on December 24th 1913. Prior to that America had a very similar system of trade and commerce that you are relating to in this thread. The controls within the public and private sector were still being governed with justifiable prudence within the hierarchy of the courts. A few decades before that the Socialist Labor Party advocated a graduated income tax in 1887. The Populist Party "demanded a graduated income tax" in its 1892 platform. The Democratic Party, led by William Jennings Bryan, advocated the income tax law passed in 1894, and proposed an income tax in its 1908 platform. This little tidbit is of interest because these parties associations embrace a communist philosophy, especially at that time when being a communist was not considered as bad as it is today. At that point in history we seemed to have put all of our financial eggs into one socialistic basket. Today that basket is now carried around by an elite few, who are not socialists, but have taken advantage of a situation that socialistic posturing and a few naive thoughts have caused. Take a stand to repeal the 16th amendment. Free yourself from a flawed tax and financial system. Fight to remove youself and the future of your DNA from the consistently sugarcoated tyranny and slavery we drone though in our lives acknowledging in jest, and then doing nothing about...

Socialism and communism always look amazing on paper, but whenever it is implemented the society crumbles because of many things such as power-hungry dictators/leaders.

 

Anarcho-capitalist myself so this thread is really preaching to the choir.

 

The sad thing is that anarchism in reality is about as functional as communism.

 

I honestly can't think of anything less functional than government, every 'service' that they provide is a fucking disaster.

At least without government the people who seek to steal from others aren't in a legitimized position of power.

Do I believe that we are going to suddenly convert to an An-Cap society? No. But at least its a move in the right direction.

 

Anarchy is a really good idea, but again like communism it fails to actually work because of human nature. Humans are innately political. Aristotle did a lot of writing on his observation of Grecian politics and how politics work and wrote about the political nature of humans. It is more like idealism. I would consider myself, ideally, to be an individualist anarchist in the vein of Oscar Wilde. I am a realist though.

 

Anarchism isn't a utopian ideal, it takes into account the fact that humans are going to be selfish and self-interested.

The only thing that anarchy necessarily promotes is the idea that we don't need rulers. This is for the reason that you described, because I'm a realist and I don't believe that this 'government' will ever exist in favor of anyone's self interest.

Now the idea that we can have a virtuous government comprised of the same people who you see unfit to govern themselves seems a bit more utopian to me.
