Why Slayer Leech Not Working In PoE

In Path of Exile, the Slayer is an Ascendancy class for Duelists. The Slayer class focuses on raw power and maintaining sustainability as they fight. They possess bonuses to life leech and stun and passives such as Bane of Legends gives them an edge against tougher monsters.

You may don't seem to gain health after getting hit, tested in act 1. You also have vaal pact but that should only make you regen more from leeching.


In fact, Leech is based off the damage you deal. If you test it in act 1 it takes so little damage to kill mobs that you don't build up noticeable leech instances. Keeping an eye on poe trade currency is important.

10 bucks says you think you have over kill leeched as life (slayer), when in reality you only have scion's slayer leech which says leech doesn't end at full life.

You need to hit mobs to build up the leech, scion doesn't have overleech so the 5dmg hit you try in act 1 won't heal you for much.

Slayer works great because of combination of the "leech effects don't end at full life" and the "leech 20% of overkill damage" nodes. This means that even without investing heavily into leech you can get leech instances that least literally for a few minutes. With scion you need to invest heavily into % of attack damage leeched as life and into damage itself.

Basically Slayer will work with even budget gear and low damage and will work better for mapping, while Scion needs a lot investment to reach the same power level, but works much better against bosses (since it doesn't rely so much on killed recently effects).

As long as you have decent damage, % leech, and keep hitting things, then yes you won't notice any functional difference, however, as I mentioned, if your damage is on the budget end of things and you take too long between monster packs you will see the scion leech dropping off from time to time.
