90% of mainstream music is shitty. that's what the internet is for.

 

Why does musical taste cause people to become inconsiderate assholes?

As long as you can listen to what you enjoy, why can't you be content?

 

That's your opinion..some people think the music you listen to is shitty, but they aren't going to judge you. Listen to what you like and don't be a follower.

Honestly, you just don't know what is good music. Get your ears off Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber and you might ear something good. No, don't listen to the radio, or Bieber will find you.

You guys are so elementary minded. You all fit yourselves into one group or scene and defend it like you are actually part of something. Music is there to enjoy. Whether it be mainstream/underground etc. If you like it, you like it, if you don't keep your mouth shut. Those fans don't care about what you have to say nor does the artist. Are you making millions? I don't think so, so as far as i'm concerned shut your mouth until you become an influence on a huge fanbase. Even then, still regard the fact to respect all music, no matter how unnecessary or ridiculous it can sometimes be. You gain experience and learn from all forms of music. You also have to remember the music industry is a huge business. Artists make a means to survive and put out what's necessary for their own interests. So don't expect it to be everything you want, life doesn't revolve around you.

Yeah a lot of current mainstream music is shit, but there's plenty of amazing stuff out there, and it's really not that hard to find. I don't honestly even know what sort of stuff is popular these days, it doesn't matter to me. Listen to the music that you like, who gives a fuck if other people like it.
