Meridian Ace is unbanned wants to pay back

This person who bought my gold but end up charging me back wants to repay

me by sending me an Ebay Gift-card worth the same value.

Are there any precautions that I should take if I receive it e.g will I be

charged back or anything of the sort?

 

You should ask for a refund and that's it.

 

She 'supposedly' already used it within 12 hours after the transaction...may be a while...

 

Tell her to cancel her dispute aka cancel her scam attempt that she got caught for.

 

Yeah, I've ask her to do that or return my OSRSGP back; apparently she said someone she 'supposedly' trusted and owes her to pay me with their paypay account - I doubt this supposed person will cancel the dispute if anything...

If the offender has a proof of purchase for the gift card, or it was illegitmately obtained by the offender and whoever she ripped the card off of has proof of purchase the card could easily become useless.

If you take the proper precautions (proper screenshots, sythe pms) and use a middleman to obtain the card then if the card does become invalid for you then they would very easily become banned again.

You do realise an ebay gift card valued at $50 would sell for $25-30 on Craigslist, thus resulting in a $25 profit to the scammer. My opinion is to tell the piece of shit to pay you back with Paypal, or accept the GC & $25.

It's basically like currency in this Fifa soccer game. You play soccer matches, earn coins, etc. You can use coins to buy players or something.

 

I see this going in circles, to her saying you're making it difficult to reimburse. Just hope that doesn't happen, but this is clear "I scammed, but will try to get my way out of getting in trouble" tactic.

These type of scammers will usually make many excuses, and remain in contact with you for some time, til it goes nowhere.

Just take charge (no pun intended) and ask for the absolute equivalent in rs, or refund on paypal. None of these childish games.
