Why does Norway have to be so good?

I just went on a demographics trail (where you just keep pressing links on different wiki pages) through wiki looking at different aspects of big problems facing countries and I swear to god Norway is on top of every damn thing. The country has the highest HDI, some of the lowest Crime rates in the world, lowest wealth distribution, less diseases then many other countries (never one case of rabies among other disease's throughout the world), fair (and very well working) prison system (maximum sentence 21 years, and the prisons allow inmates to work for money and live in bedrooms), high GDP, the most happy people and the fairest democracy (rated by the "economist" magazine). No matter what you look at related to demographics it always ranks at the top. Its really interesting to look out how they succeed in so many things using simple common sense methods. Mind you, Australia ranks very close to Norway in many things (above UK, U.S etc)

I personally think that it is because the Norwegian government treats everyone with respect, no matter if your homeless, sick, in prison, pregnant etc. Many other nations would definitely think that Norway is quite soft in how generous it is but it seems to be working very well compared to the rest of the world.

 

Sounds like they just allocate their money more wisely and isn't driven by greed.

 

Nordic Socialism is really a system that should be studied more carefully.
