Graphic Designers selling graphics dirt cheap

I've kinda have a problem with people in the gfx section dirt cheap. Theres even people that sell stuff at $1 and 1M etc. Though they can do this, i feel this just messes up prices that people will pay for graphics making orders from higher quality people / higher prices so people get less orders and these people ruin the market. Maybe I'm just over reacting. What are your thoughts?

 

Its like this inside every Market section. I really hate it and its those newcomers trying whatever it takes to get vouches. I'm not sure how it works within the Graphic section but other sections like skilling/questing, if you have more vouches and been here for quite some time, they're more likely to use you. I don't see how this will work in the Graphic section really and that really sucks. I can only see this work through the referral way, how someone likes a sig, ask who made it, etc...

You're not overreacting. I guess if people really like your graphic, they'll come to you.

You would expect people to go for much better quality yet a lot of people here try to get there gfx as cheap as possible. If you think about it, a lot of people wouldn't care about quality so they might no care / not know whats good graphics.
I'm not trying to say i'm the best graphics designer but I want more graphics orders than i get right now. Lately i've had like a request every couple of days :S

 

I do agree. People with little to no skill flood the market. That is all a product of C4D signatures. C4D signatures are quickly and easily mass produced. All you have to do is have a template and you just put the text in, change the font, generate and then sharpen it in PS and soft brush it a little. You can put out a signature in 15 - 20 minutes and with no skill.

 

I agree. Though I do make c4d sigs, that is only because that is what everyone really wants. It is standard for me to ask customers if they want 3-D or 2-D. Tbh, I'm just into simple designs.

 

Yupp have observed this lately. Its really sad tbh because then I get people coming up to me asking for like a $5 website >.>

I get people asking for a free sig, 1M sigs, big discounts, teach them stuff etc

But seriously, right now, people are creating $2 sigs, $1 sigs, 1M sigs, $35 website design.
There are even people requesting 1M sigs and so on :S

Im not too bothered about sales as much as seeing retarded prices for graphics.

 

I don't mind teaching people, but I do hate it when people want to pay like 5m for a signature that took 2 hours to do.

 

One time, I created a sig for some guy which took 3 hours in total because of his changes but then he wanted the .psd and a cheaper price so I just got so fed up I said no.

 

I as the designer always retain the right to the design except in business design cases such as t-shirts and websites. So I do not release the PSD to a signature unless I later release it for learning rights or other reasons.

 

Maybe I'll try not to give out the .psds

 

Defy, I just had to say this, is this because you don' t get any orders, I' m myself a newcomer and I get like 2 requests dayly? You lack some skill dude. Some people can' t afford on buying signatures. I' lll edit this post later, on phone now.

Before i used to get a lot of requests but its kinda dropped lol. Now i get a lot of requests of Web Design but I'm not really experienced with that so I don't do those requests lol. My last request was yesterday :S
What I make is really what I prefer to do. I'm no fan of Cinema 4D sigs at all to be honest. Don't judge a book by its cover

One other thing I forgot to mention is how gold is crashing so hard, people are coming up and asking for like .5/M ratios and I am just baffled at how they think they can just slip by me like that >.< I am involved in other parts of this community too although it might not look like it =P so no fooling me xD

OT: I don't really think it matters too much. since if you're good. you get enough customers. I myself am not up there and still got like 100m ish from my gfx store. i hardly bump it aswell. so whatever it is. just get the attention to you

 

Yep, I have actually noticed that. Usually I do $.4/M.
Its kinda strange how R2Pleasent can sell mills at $.7 only based off of his reputation. He buys dirt cheap and sells so high he makes so much profit. But then you got people selling tons of rsgp at 0.5 and just making the value of rsgp go down. Its these people that ruin graphics market and rsgp market and I assume other markets.

 

It's not that. You want to be fairly compensated for your time and creativity because you have a skill everyone else doesn't. I mean we could pump out crappy signatures for 2m each, but who has pride in that. Someone paying 5m for a signature that took 2 hours, I can pick up empty cans and recycle them and make triple that. haha.

But 75def, are you actually happy with 100M in the time it took to make + you have a unique skill not a lot of people have. And on top of that, there are people who think they have skill making sigs for a mill each lol

 

i actually am. since i haven't really done too cheap work. I do understand all this tho. but on the other side. These newcomers are some cocky beaches with no pride at all from what i've seen. I feel like they think they can just come here and rape all gfxers here with their 5m sigs. I myself see this as a motivation to get better. to get at the level Kina, Moon and Emperor are. been busy on my website and coming with a new smexy layout. I'm very very far off this. But even tho it might rape my income a bit, i get motivated to get better. To try new things. After all i do what i enjoy to do. even if noone would buy my sigs and i closed my shop. i wouldn't stop making graphics. it's a hobby. not a job
