    ignorant?

i'm a habitual marijuana user myself and i am aware of all of the side effects of using it (if you think there are no side effects then you were retarded before you started using anyways)

that being said i would never ALLOW my kid to be using it, as it is not in their best interest

    edit: lol@my post count

Don't assume that was what I was going to use. I slap people that say it has no effects. ;)

Even given the damage due to alcohol is worse? I'd rather any children I have smoke up than drink. While I agree it's better not to be involved with either from a health perspective, you've got to account for the fact that they're going to be involved in it anyway. The least you can do is teach them about it.

At least if I don't ALLOW them to use marijuana as in they don't have my consent and I don't approve of it, it will discourage them from using it in or around the home thus cutting down their usage profoundly as compared to allowing them, in which case you'll just end up with your stoner son and a bunch of his stoner buddies chilling in or around your house often.

I'm not going to let my kid do something because there could be worse things he could do.

If he was raping people I wouldn't be like "oh, well at least you aren't killing them."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA at all the fuckin twats on here hating on bud!!!!!

my whole family has our green cards and grow 45 medical cannabis plants and make over $120k/yr, so fuck all yall haters out there, you know nothing, if you wanna say bud is bad, then ask yourself this...
why has weed been used since BC in china for medical uses, also the founding fathers of england and america REQUIRED settelers too grow weed for hemp sails, and medical used/good trading materials with the natives.
WHY are %70+ of the states in america legalizing medical weed? ask yourselfs that, you ignorant weak minded haters, you have no idea what weed is, your all just a bunch of followers/dogs that believe anything you hear and dont actually look into it before you post like a fucking tard.

EDIT: also, i dont drink it fucks you up 10x worse than weed does, it destroys your liver, its addicting, its deadly, and you can DIE from it....
you CANNOT overdose on weed, you will only smoke yourself sober OR pass the fuck out :) AND weed is actually a cure for cancer, not shitting you. it kills pre-cancerous and cancerous cells.

"DRUNKS run stop sign's, A BLAZZED ASS MUTHA FUCKA waits for it too turn green."

alcohol should be illegal, weed should be legal.

Honestly I wouldn't count this as a win, most of the time kids aren't responsible enough to handle that kind of thing without restriction. It's one thing if you're the exception, but the vast majority of kids, if they were allowed to toke up at any given time without anybody caring, would turn out to be failures. I'm trying to be as unbiased as I possibly can here, and I do smoke up myself.. but any mind altering substance can be abused, and no matter how much you may love pot that's just the reality of it. I'm not saying it's bad by any means. It's definitely better than alcohol..

ignorant pricks. If you look at health issues caused by excessive drinking, compared to smoking pot, you'll realize that drinking alcohol is absolutely destructive. While every argument about marijuana always has the same example and statistics that people use to prove points, i have my own personal experience that lead me to believe that smoking pot is perfectly okay. Who wants to get so hammered drunk that they black out and cant remember a thing? who wants to risk getting behind the wheel while youre intoxicated and risk taking the life of someone innocent, let alone your own life. People are so ignorant and dont understand how marijuana works. Straight edge fucks like most people replying to the thread probably dont know enough about marijuana to understand what im saying.

Just because there is worse you could be doing doesn't mean smoking weed is "perfectly ok". Judging by your writing style and points of view I'd guess you are rather young, about 14-16. You still have a lot to learn. There is nothing positive to gain from smoking marijuana other than pleasure, and there ARE undeniable side effects that come with smoking marijuana. My advice to you would be to stay away from both marijuana and alcohol and tend to your studies, get into a good college and enjoy success later on rather than spending your time and money getting high and accomplishing nothing.

His parents would appear to be taking the stance that they haven't the right to stop him from doing what he wants to his own body. After all, his body is his own property. While you may not agree with their ethics, it doesn't make them bad parents.

Personally I intend, if I ever have children, to educate them about it. Awareness is a better virtue than ignorance, particularly as my children would, given the way society is, be involved with it at some point anyway. It's the same concept as alcohol: as a guardian you don't allow your child to drink, but as they leave their mid-teens and start to have a mind of their own you can do little about what they want to do. The only thing you can do is educate them while they're still willing to listen, so if you're going to give such a blunt refusal to your children, I pity them.

As for rape, that's reductio ad absurdum. Use of weed pertain's to one's self. Rape directly harms another, and has vast moral implications. Don't take my stance the wrong way; if I'm ever a parent I intend to be firm about what I do and do not want in my household. I'm not interested in taking in passive weed smoke when I don't want to, any concertgoer will tell you it can affect you even though it's passive. You seem to believe that ignorance is the best way to stop it, but provided they then become exposed to it the situation simply gets worse than it could be, and you can easily be labelled a hypocrite.

this is like saying, "i dont mind if you smoke crack, after all, your not shooting heroin while snorting crystal meth while shooting at pedestrians"

so, if you had a kid, you would allow them to tattoo their faces if they wanted to?
jesus, it is the parents job to regulate what their children do.
this is the problem with modern society. kids have less guidance because it is seen as oppressive.

Any parent that allow this should be arrested. This is not a parent. What kind of example does this give to a child.

Parents are a failure these days and it reflects on the kids. Starting off by T.V the baby sitter and now this. We have come a long way from the old days..
