Why do people support anonymous when..

They take away from things you enjoy doing/ playing? Ect.. PSN, Steam, on and on. They're a lame boat of no lifers who need something better to do then hack people better than them.

 

They do a lot more then you think....

I know they do a lot more than that but when you take away from a community as opposed to give to it, it seems more like terrorism than anything productive. Kind of like your comment

 

Anonymous is nothing but hype, honestly. There's the smallest minority of people who claim to be "anonymous" that can actually do anything hacking related, the vast majority does nothing but use the LOIC and act like they're some supreme dark overlords.

 

If you guys watched eagle's eye, that movie was great btw, i can imagine anonymous ..

 

This Anon isn't really Anon. Back at Operation Clambake and doing all of the Anon Vs. Scientology - that was the real Anon. They stood for something and wanted change.

They think they are providing a service to the people through taking down certain websites and stealing certain information from corporations or businesses. I think they can be on point in some of there actions but other steps they take just hurt the people they are trying to "protect". You must note that Anonymous is a term used by a lot of different groups and since its been so viral any "hacker" claims to be part of anonymous. If they create a better image for the group and have better organization I feel like there message would be seen in a better light unlike how the media portrays them as, which is a bunch on internet thugs. Overall Anonymous has its ups and downs and everything the group does in some way is for a good purpose.

 

If your complaining about anonymous taking down things such as the PSN and Steam, your doing exactly what they want. They do it to send a widespread message, and people like you are conveying it by being upset. However, I think what they do is great. They are the only ones who have enough balls to actually try and change the world.

A lot of people have differing opinions on the group, but I for one am definitely a supporter. I think the only way to make a difference this day and age, is to pull something big like anonymous does on a regular basis.

 

I don't see how shutting down corporations for an hour and stealing their consumer's information is making a difference in the world. By far they're "trying" when in reality they don't make an impact on the world rather than just to annoy them. Think about the government, they "have enough balls" to change the world and they do every day.

 

Name one instance in which they stole people's information. If your referring to the PSN hacking, 1. I am pretty sure that wasn't even anonymous, and 2. anonymous doesn't steal information for the sake of using someone's credit card or anything of that nature.

The very fact that you know about them in the first place proves they are making an impact. Would you be sitting here on this thread talking about them if they hadn't?

They are the only ones who can change the world. They run the world, and they are running it right into the ground. Think about it, do any of us want SOPA, PIPA, or ACTA? No, but the government is doing its best to force it upon us. Is that a democracy? I don't think so.

They did GREAT when they hacked Sony.

 

'anonymous' did not hack Sony, one guy who was painted as anonymous did.

if by anonymous you refer to the activists that pursue equality and change and campaign anti-censorship, at occupy wall st, against scientology, etc. Then I fully support their actions.

Exactly. And in case you didn't know, Anonymous' goal isn't to abolish Steam and stuff like that. and also, everyone who claims to be anonymous isn't always anonymous. It's like protesting in front of a grocery store. Does this mean they're against grocery stores? No. It's a medium they use to attract to attention.

On that note, the current Anonymous sucks. As for the previous one, there were only few times that they had just cause.

 

I'm pretty sure occupy wall st wasn't anonymous, unless of course they were all concealing their faces.

 

How do they get hacked if they're better? If you look into the reasons why they do the things they do, it's usually for the greater good rather than just to make kids unhappy.

 

If we can't do nothing, at least they can't do it, they speak for us, like that shit,sopa and pipa, fuc*k that, anonymous represent us, they only made what they have made because they need to call the attention for this stupid law, and what is going on on thsi crazy world.
