Why do certain members get special treatment?

So... Its been decided that stuff that a user did before Sythe does warrant a ban now? Then treat everyone the same. No one on Sythe should get special treatment, no matter what their rank or status or anything.

And, honestly, scamming and phishing are the same thing essentially. So if we do not welcome anyone who has ever phished before, then we shouldn't welcome anyone who has ever scammed before.

No one should be given special treatment. Apply the rules equally to everyone.

 

Everyone is usually treated the same.

The members who receive the "special treatment" are always pardoned by Sythe himself. If you have a problem with the way he runs the site then you can PM him.

 

Your second statement makes your first false.

 

Long ago the military started a "don't ask, don't tell" policy.. If someone posts they've been a hacker, scammer and/or whatever I support a ban. IMO, once you go down the road, you'll always find your way back.

Staff reserve the right to ban or infract for any unconscionable act. The above rules and associated punishments only apply when the staff can reasonably judge that a user does not deserve some other, perhaps more severe form of punishment for any unconscionable act they might make on the forums.


Perfect example, not all staff are treated differently from members.

Whats your last sentence mean? Don't ask don't tell doesn't work.... Since people have told, and they will ask.

 

At the end of the day, it isn't your site & Sythe reserves the right to act differently on a case to case basis.

Sythe values professionalism and things like this are not professional.

 

Causing drama isn't a goal of mine. You know quite well exactly what I am talking about, and I'd rather keep it vague. I don't think it is fair to the member and I think that this system is dumb and I've giving feedback on this sensitive issue as. Um. Undramatically as possible.

 

Okay Okay.. just to support Suf and identify that no special treatment is given. I'll take an infraction for my "Outstanding Post" which is clearly spam. Smile!

If you weren't intending to cause drama, then you could of just as easily PMed Sythe.

 

I highly doubt that he would care about a random user getting banned. The feedback should be seen by all, but made in a way to not cause drama about what I'm relating things to. Users do have a right to post opinions.

 

And you might want to take another one for this post... You proved nothing by accepting an infraction. They are meaningless compared to bans. Saying that you are doing this to support me is kind of insulting and it doesn't do anything to show that no special treatment is given.

 

If you did anything that would be a perm ban if you did it right now, before you came to Sythe and you have admitted it. Then sure.
