    Why are they not punished?

I was wondering why people who put on their signature "_______ IS A SCAMMER DO NOT TRADE" are not punished since it is going against the rules.
"Accusing someone of scamming: without proof (text logs DO NOT COUNT AS PROOF)"
Rule in the official rules. Do they get infractions for putting this? Since this is an accusation of scamming without proof.
I haven’t heard of people getting infractions for this, I've seen someone with the same signature message for months saying that someone is a scammer.

Yeah, you can say that signatures are not treated with the same strictness as normal posts, however in some cases if posted virus' or pornography you can get banned if on the signature, so why not accusations of scamming?
In my opinion it's worse than accusing someone of scamming on a thread, since the whole of the forum can see it on your signature
if they post frequently and if they are doing a pin/skilling business it would be ruined and people would generally not trade with them.

Anyway post your thoughts on this.

    Why are they not punished?

Your signatures are private and are not taken as strictly as posts. You're allowed to have referrals, etc.. in your sig.

Yeah I understand that. If someone had a keylogger on their signature saying download this private server. Would the same rules apply?

    Why are they not punished?

Not all rules are exempt from signatures, only ones such as referrals, advertising, accusing without proof, etc.. Anything such as porn, keyloggers, etc... are not allowed.

Oh you are saying only the rules what are permanently ban offensives?
Still you could go into this discussion further and council some moderators/admins about it. I personally think that it shouldn’t be allowed someone could just have a grudge over someone and do that, and if I saw someone saying that someone is a scammer, I wouldn’t trade with them and thus ruin their chances of being trusted on sythe.

Really? Last time I reported someone for this, I got a reply back saying it's not against the rules.

Was either in a really old report or PM. I hope it's not a PM cause I recently cleaned out my PM box. I'll try and look at my old reports and let you know.

    Why are they not punished?

Well, you don't have it. Sigs are different than posts, and some things such as putting "BLAH IS A FUCKING SCAMMER", may deserve an infraction, something like "Blah is a bitch", doesn't has much. >_>.

    Why are they not punished?

I support this! I recently see a few signatures indicating Daily is a 'Scammer'...

    Why are they not punished?

Without a reason, I completely agree, you shouldn't ruin another persons reputation. I would never trade with someone who was being labeled as a scammer by someone.

However, in a scenario like this...

    Player A scams Player B
    Player B files a report
Player A is still active in the market while the report is up

I personally think Player B should be permitted to have "Player A is a scammer, do not trade with him!" or something along those lines in the signature. It's merely a warning.

    Why are they not punished?

A lot of you guys are dumb, to be honest. If I was trading with someone that was also mentioned in some other persons signature, I would look at their vouches, and see what trades they have done with trades, and judge him by that.

If you are the person accused in someone signature, and the person you're trading with keeps using the excuse "well i saw u in some1's signature saying u were a scammer", then they're ignorant, and you shouldn't even trade with them.

    Why are they not punished?

I agree with this, unless the person who scammed them was someone so well known people would stop and question that person on why he/she claimed that, what else seems to be the big deal. I trade with someone by their own vouches etc and not what someone else says.

True, in some cases it is because they may not have the right amount of proof to get them banned, but seriously. Why make a whole topic asking to punish those who wish to show their good/bad trades they have made?

The one I did report had "x is a scammer". I'm sorry if the last topic created button only shows last 200. I report a lot. I'm not calling you a liar or anything. I just know I DID report someone for a sig like that and that guy said it wasn't against the rules.

When I asked a Mod to remove someone's sig they stated they could have whatever they pleased there. Therefore I must agree with Rhod :/
