Everyone does a good job besides Shin and Sun. Nothing more than rank sitters at this point.

Shin obviously suffers from small man syndrome and his ego gets in the way of everything(like big rich was when he was a cute teen boy). Remind me when the last time he handled a report that wasn't involving him or some group he was a part of? He isn't fair and some would say corrupt. That can be seen with some demotions and reports he's been a part of. Most if not all of the Sythe news he puts out is written and done by lower staff and then the community thinks he did it. Guess he has to save face when he can. He needs to stop taking credit for others' work. He sets a terrible example for other staff with such inactivity and bullheadedness. And let's not forget he's head OMM and how that's going rofl.

Sun is obviously busy and should be rotated out. I have nothing to say that's negative about what she did/does besides her inactivity. But it's time for someone to be rotated in (I'm sure someone is willing to step up) and pick up slack caused by them both being super inactive.

I've been asked by multiple staff members if I wanted to become staff and that I should submit an app. But there's no way in hell I'd ever be part of a team with someone like Shin leading it.

@All current staff. I suggest you look at what Video, Gen, Pendulum, Gladiator, Jason, and TySimpson do they are prime examples of how the admins/upper staff should be. Just follow them to greatness and don't be brought down by the rank sitters (Sun + Shin)

 

Does this have to be you though? Not to sound rude in any way or issue any disrespect - but at this moment I don't know why Gen or Video could do the exact same thing.

Same happened to me basically. I think at the start of when I joined I got along with Shin quite well but eventually I have a feeling that we stopped seeing eye to eye, or atleast that's what I always kept thinking, therefore to my belief it was way easier for him to demote me. I'm trying to refrain from bickering about my demotion just because I wish to be of assistance for the community in the future as a staff member - but in my opinion the way the demotion was issued could have done way differently, way better. Perhaps due to my issues, but to my understanding I was never issued actual warnings to stop letting my emotions shine through - instead I was given advice to refrain from doing some things if I ever wanted to become an admin. Advices and actual warnings (with the consequenses noted) are 2 total different things tho.

I've heard this more than once, not about Shin tho, but other admins (and those claims were made by ex staff). While ofcourse nothing can be done so long there's not actual proof (which we probably will never get) it does become something to question.

 

Dank is right, just step down if you're inactive cuz there are plenty of people who will do a better job than you. How is it that @Wortel does more work than some staff and he's not even staff anymore, ROFL.

 

I spoke to Bert in voice, he was fully aware of what Shin posted, and said he DMed 100+ screenshots to @video, which I'm not sure if Video actually received them, but he did say he wasn't able to post on Sythe until he returned to his home state (I'm not sure of the exact date he said).

Yea ok, there's plenty of females out here on Sythe, why don't you just ask someone like @Leslie to help Administrate Sythe...?

Edit: Also, can someone explain to me why the recent promotions have only been people being upgraded to Sectional and Global Moderators? Isn't it about time for another Administrator promotion...?

 

I know this is probably late, but I just have to say that I’m very thankful for all the staff for believing in me to successfully pardon <3 I don’t publicly post around the forums much, though I am happy to be back

 

The team as a whole as of late has being doing extremely well. Props especially to the Admin team - likely the strongest team since Roary and Daves departure.

I'm curious what the current staff team uses as determination when someone is acting suspicious, and when someone isn't? I have no issues with seeing PerfectCrime being DNT'ed, but what this makes so interesting is that this is like the first time someone was DNT'ed for "being suspicious". I know he can easily dispute it with his ID, but how come we request this from PerfectCrime, while for a fact all Sythe users know that Fred has had banned profiles called "Friiday" and remains unpunished. Then there's users such as BucketGold, Calis and many more who basically do the exact same thing as PerfectCrime - yet also remain unpunished. What's going on here?

Not to mention the petty favour certain users get over others (this is a prime example) to spit in the face of others, when in fact the staff are at fault for it.

 

I wont spam this more, but here are two things to remember -

I was a retard (quite literally) a few years ago - Dispute against a donation rank this was dealt with, I was banned offsite for a year and such.

This last November, I was reported for the SAME EXACT THREAD and given a 6 MONTH ban, but thanks to @Gen who did actually respond to me and listen to what I had to say it was reduced.



It's amazing how they say they cannot use the evidence of the dispute from 3 years ago as something valid, yet they let it be manipulated and fabricated to try ban me with bias from the staff who dislike me because I tell them how I think and feel.

All in all, other than the 3 (I think?) promotions, the rest of you besides Gen have truly fucked me off, so it's a great big fuck off to you as well.

 

Is there a report/proof? I highly doubt staff would allow fredd to operate if there was valid proof. If we take PerfectCrime as an example, staff can always DNT fredd at their discretion - if they believe him to be suspicious.

Is there a report/proof that's actually punishable in regards to PerfectCrime? That's what my whole bickering is about; they are being punished, but for no valid reasons other than being sketchy. I'm all in favor for this, but we might have to apply the same punishment to about 500,000 members more in that case. It's all or nothing, otherwise you might aswell call it favoritism.

Sure, it's a slipperly slope. However, I would not call it favouritism, as its at the discretion of the Admin team. Understandably this can be misconstrued as favouritism, but, I generally trust in the decisions made by upper staff.

To note, I have no idea who this Fredd or Friiday fella is, so I don't have any context or knowledge relative to said case, and thus cant comment further.

 

Just a heads up that I've noticed alot of differency in who handles which report or dispute. This applies to all sections. While determining who's doing stuff correctly and who's doing stuff wrong is another discussion and not taken to heart anyways, I'm sure we can all agree that staff ruling should be the same no matter who's handling a report. Either be lenient, or don't be. Right now it's basically hoping the right person you have in mind handles your request, and I can tell you that doesn't immediately mean that the higher the rank someone has (sectional>global>admin) the more knowledge someone has and the better someone handles your request.

I will not provide examples, that's something you'll have to find out for yourselves, as I have to find out other stuff for myself.

 

Fundamentally, as long as the rules in place are being adhered to, in relation to banning users, I see no tangible issue with differing approaches being taken by different staff members.

We're all inherently different people, with differing personalities and traits, and as such, that will flow onto how issues are tended to, alongside perspective, opinion, knowledge and resources also impacting how reports are resolved.

There are many other factors that are relevant in dealing with a report. For example, if a newer staff member who joined in 2019 were to deal with a report on h1j2q3, they may instantly ban him, and offer him no leeway. Whereas I would offer him the benefit of the doubt. Similarly, I'm sure other veteran staff members such as @video would as well. Why? That's because we know he's a seasoned user, and a market veteran. Similarly, users such as h1jq2q3, R2P, Alch, etc, have all earned that right to be given the benefit of the doubt. It may seem unfair, or bias to an extent, but reputation proceeds itself, and it's relevant in certain reports.

 

I've noticed that staff no longer bans scammers, however they still do DNT + ban evaders. I've never been in favor of the temp-ban (along with DNT), but just a DNT is even worse when they just scammed. What exactly is the reasoning for this being changed now? Sure it could provide some scammers some time of realisation to see what damages they've done, but it could also entertain them. What changed?
