Who would like to see a vanilla sythe.org minecraft server?

Already voted yes, but I have to say that flying would be a minus for me.

I'd be happy to help donate to the server's upkeep costs, too, which I forgot to mention earlier.

 

well flying is going to only for those who donate, so not everyone is going to flying around, and if you don't like flying you don't have to fly, it wont ruin your experience, it just provides the best of both worlds for everyone, some like it some don't.

 

Not played Minecraft in quite a while, but it would be great to see a server being offered for this for Sythe users

 

I don't like griefing either but it's minecraft.

 

flying only for a select few is a huge let down tbh... it isn't just some cool little ability you have, it hurts the economy and offers an unfair advantage. if you can fly you don't have to worry about traveling in the nether to collect nether warts/blaze rods/etc. which is normally very hard, and you can even gather materials in cave systems with extreme efficiency compared to walking. It's way too op to just throw at donators so i suggest you take it out.

If you want rewards for donating make it something cosmetic that can't offer unfair advantages that make the server pay to win. Some suggestions for this are maybe a hat plugin or maybe access to a donator zone or something (Not through teleport commands).

i don't see how it would be pay to win, no one wins in the game, i personally wouldn't play the game if i couldnt fly, it makes building more enjoyable for me.

you can win survival in the same way you can win in runescape. getting progressively better and better until you get everything. If you want to play minecraft to build then just have 2 ports, 1 for creative and 1 for survival.

 

I would love to play! Maybe we could have different sections of the server for different playstyles? Like a griefing sandbox? I have tons of ideas for this!

this isn't like a server to make money off of etc, its just for people to play around on and have fun.

as it stands now it would be just 1 server, we might not even get a server it all depends on feedback from sythe, so having more then one server this early on, wouldn't happen.

That's exactly what Gold was saying, Delta. It gives unfair advantages over those who can't donate. You're not paying to win, but *you're donating* for perks.

Arguably what we do in Runescape. The game is Free-to-Play. We can then choose to pay a membership which allows us to have better stats, skills, etc.

The money that we pay Jagex can be viewed as a donation. We already have the option to play the game for free. But for "x" amount of money we can receive "y" amount of perks for "z" amount of time.

Before the bonds were introduced, x= $7.99 retail
The amount of perks are always growing. y= n^2?
For this example, "x" equaled $7.99 so z= 30 calendar days.

Add that onto the fact that most of us have probably bought gold at one point in time in our Runescape careers, the coin has two sides for this argument.
