Welcome all Christians, Buddhists,Hindus, Atheists and Muslims and everyone else.
Was browsing youtube and BAM! This video pops up, I watched it and my life changed... in 20 minutes. I will never be the same. Take some time and watch it and lets discuss!
John was known as a Paraclete, mentions a Paraclete after him, which was Jesus. But did you know that Jesus also mentioned the coming of another PARACLETE after him?
I generally don't watch 23 minute long videos, and I'm guessing most other people don't either. Personally, I believe that it's best to make your own argument, rather than link somebody to someone else's argument.
In this case, though, I'll make an exception. I'm in a good mood today.
I'll list my counterpoints by the time they occurred in the video:
1:40 - The Big Bang was not an explosion, it was a period of unimaginably rapid expansion. A common misconception, but still, a misconception.
1:47 - The Big Bang was the start of space and time. There was no primordial dust cloud.
2:35 - Nobody says that the Big Bang was random.
2:38 - The universe is far from perfect.
2:45 - I know I said it before, but the Big Bang was NOT an explosion, so it cannot be compared to the explosions caused by bombs.
3:06 - Entropy is actually the fact that an ISOLATED system tends towards disorder. Sounds nitpicky, I know, but it's an important distinction.
3:51 - Entropy has increased, not decreased, since the Big Bang, so no, science is not contradicting science at all.
4:12 - Oh, great. The Watchmaker Analogy, again. Paintings, sculptures, and buildings are not comparable to life, or any part of the natural universe. All of these things are
irreducibly complex, nature is not.
4:32 - I would venture a guess that most atheists don't believe in a soul.
4:45 - Food, maybe?
5:20 - So science isn't advanced enough to create life...so what? We're not able to travel to other galaxies yet, that doesn't mean that it's impossible.
5:28 - No, we can, and do, revive the dead literally all the time while their organs still function. Have you never heard of somebody's heart stopping on the operating table?
5:44 - No, absolutely not. Self-organization is a thing.
I guess I'm not in THAT great a mood today, so I'm going to stop here. This is another video that relies on false premises, emotional music, and appeals to ignorance to sway minds. If you disagree with anything I've said, or if you want to type out your own argument, I'm happy to reply.
