Who is your role model?

Simple enough thread. Who is your role model? Please give a reason too.

For me it would be Muhammed Ali. He was the boxing world heavyweight champion, and was asked to go fight in the Vietnam War. He refused to go because he did not want to kill people who had never hurt or disturbed him in any way. He got jailed, and stripped of his title. When he got back out of jail he won his title again.

He is my role model because he stuck to what he believed in, and knew what he was doing was right.

 

Person I know: My mom. She's put up with my me playing sports, school, all the stuff a mother should do. She's amazing.

From History: F.D.R. Did many great things in his time. Wish I was able to of met him. :\

From Sports: John Wooden: Amazing coach, mentor, all around person. Is probably one of the most inspiring sports person I've ever seen.

 

My dad. I've always looked up to him.

 

My mom. She works her ass off and put up with me for 18 years. Her dedication and love is amazing.

 

I was thinking more historical figures than parents. But whatever you feel is right.

Grandfather, the friendliest and humble person I ever met. He was a great sports person playing rugby for South Africa in 1966. He has inspired me to go for my goal of playing for Australia.

 

I don't have any historical role-models, as I really show no interest in history.

Most of the people I would consider role-models are fictional, however, I don't shape my life around other people or things. I shape my own personality.

 

Adolf Hitler,,

Interesting that you say that, he might have been the most vile and evil person to ever life but sure, he was successful, intelligent, wise and powerful. He also had great leadership skills and his people feared/loved him. I can understand why people would say that.

 

That's in the direction I meant, I was waiting for people to flame before I mentioned it,,

What he done, everyone can agree was pretty damn sick, but pointing in the direction of how he got to his leadership is pretty amazing.

 

I have to agree that most of my role-models are characters from books, I try to be my own person

 

My role model is the ideal view of myself, because everyone else has imperfections.

also Jack Black, Robert downey jr., and Katt Williams.

 

I couldn't say one person that I would use a model. I would say Dale Carnegie, Socrates, and Hitler.

Carnegie, for his business skills and politeness. Socrates, for his philosophical thinking. Hitler, for his anger, used to convince.

 

my role model in my life is my father i would like to be as successful as him and in music if lil wayne.

 

For all you people who are saying that your role model is your ideal image of yourself, are you saying you do not think greatly of someone who has done something great in his life, and you respect him for that.

 

My dad, he has raised Me, my two sisters and my little brother as a single parent since my mum passed away, he does a lot for us, =].
