They waited much too long. If they would have acted sooner hundreds of lives would have been saved.

 

I agree with Aryeh, they did wait way too long. There atleast should have been something done before this.

 

I stand by my previously mentioned opinion. The American government failed to act in a situation where hundreds of lives could have been saved. That can't be reversed, just learned from. Now it's better late then never, but the American government (only the sects that have to do with this kind of thing) should conduct themselves better in the future. This is only my opinion, mind you.

They shouda done this a long time ago, so many people died for no reason. I hope they frigging kill that ghaddafi.

 

Do you understand the implications of a no fly zone?

 

The US is already involved in two wars and acting without the UN's approval is illegal by international law.

 

I wasn't suggesting they acted without the UN's approval. But they could have gone forward to the UN to start this whole process instead of waiting until very recently when the Arab countries in the regions had to start asking the UN for help.

 

Ghaddafi is a person who ruins the Image of Arabs. He's a complete idiot and has no idea what the fuck he's doing, I honestly don't know how he got elected by his own people to run the country, And after 42 years, The libyan's start complaining, This revolt was supposed to be done decades ago. I think the Revolt in Egypt was a Wake-up call.

 

They spend more time talking than walking.

 

He took over in a coup and managed to remain in power since.

The US needs to stop playing referee and let countries resolve their own problems. Of course they only want this to be able to set up a "real democratic" government after Ghaddafi is removed.

 

The UK and France wanted one MUCH MORE than the US did. This is the UNITED NATIONS doing this NOT THE UNITED STATES.

 

Obama stated that he would not be the one to lead the UN to what would seem like another war. GB and France took it upon them selves (and thank god we did) to be the first in hopefully followed by NATO.

However I'm sure America will jump in towards the end for the credit of it. Maybe in a year or so they will have released a film about how they were the only country to do anything about it and the ROW sat and watched.

 

Just more evidence that the UN is a useless organization.

It took them weeks just to agree on releasing a statement condemning the actions of Gadhafi and even longer to agree on the no fly zone. The US will once again have to be the babysitter and take care of another childish leader.

 

And yet the US has not planned any military action after the vote.... Hmmmm. The UK and France are the big players this time.

If it's protecting innocent civilians, good. I just hope the US didn't have a major part in it.

 

From what I understand it won't. They are also going farther than a no-fly zone now and will most likely also target tanks and other heavy weapons to stop his advance.

 

Thats what I got out of it too, Obama probably wouldn't let the U.S. get too involved in Libya anyway, lastest poll says that 65% are against any actual military involvement in Libya.
