Im a proud Canadian and I always here these weird stereotypes about us, like how we pronounce "About", and no, we dont say "Aboot". And neither do we all have pet beavers, or do we have snow all year and live in igloos, and we dont have polar bears running around our neighborhood, southpark is really bad for this too, what do you think about canadians?

I think you're further reinforcing some of those stereotype with your grammatical errors.

I am a Canadian, and I don't understand many of the stereotypes that people have of us, to be honest. But I guess we are all a little ignorant about each others cultures for the most part.. like I have never had a great perception of Americans, and tend to assume that they all fit the "dumb American" stereotype and talk really funny in that southern drawl that they are so famous for (the slow, lazy speech). But I know for a fact that those stereotypes are false, because I have been to the United States a few times and the people were actually quite friendly. There are also many people from the States who I chat with here on Sythe, and they are very nice people :)

Oh well... what can you do? However, I left a little video here that all the Canadians on Sythe might find really funny. I saw this on TV awhile back and thought it was hilarious! The video itself is of terrible quality, but its mainly the audio you want to hear anyways. Let me know what you think ahaha!

Canada is a pretty peaceful place, so I got nothing against it.

I was interested in moving to Canada as soon as I graduated high school. It's still an option, but not for a few years.

Stereotypes are stereotypes, and most people can point them out from the truth. Snow all year long and pet beavers are a little absurd, lol.

The only thing I've heard about Canada is that it's very peaceful. No one ever goes into war with Canada.. lol

I know a kid from Canada who we joke with about him being Canadian a lot... Stereotypes are for the ignorant and uninformed.

Yes actually, we do. We pronounce many words with "ou" different from Americans - no way is the "right" way, but they're just different. For example, about, out, or trout.

I was born in Canada and lived there for 15 years when I moved to the United States. I've been here for 2 years now, and lost my accent, I can now hear my friends from Canada pronounce those words different since I'm so used to the American way.

P.S. Your rant is dumb. Who cares about stereotypes? There are many about Americans too, or any nationality for that matter.

I grew up in New Brunswick.

Most Canadians do say "aboot". It's the way that we pronounce "ou".. We pronounce it like it's spelled, where Americans pronounce it more like "ow".

That's what I used to think too. It's not until you live somewhere else and listen to other nationalities for a while that you realize you say it differently. I never thought we said it differently until I moved to the United States, and lived here for several months.

I was born in Edmonton, Alberta and lived there for many years, and have been back many times. I now reside in Vancouver, British Columbia, and not ONCE have I ever heard a Candian pernounce the word 'about' by saying "ah-boot", even on TV. That is so completely false... unless it is some weird Eastern thing that is not widely known.
