New Laptop Same internet but slower?

Hey so I got the new hp envy dv7 and set it up and all that, it was a huge upgrade to my 2007 dell xps something and I'm on the same internet (which used to run around 12mps) and now I'm not even running 1 mps and I can't play any games? I'm on comcast using a linksys router and an amped wireless range extender. Anyone know anything I can do?

My computer has 1tb of storage and 8mb of memory which is way better than my old computer. This new one runs windows eight though

It would be better for you to instal an Anti Virus. Sometime virus resist applications and drivers to not to work. A suitable Antivirus will be fine for your Laptop machine.
