Where would you invest 150m?

LOL this is the conversation my friends and I have all the time... Powerball was extremely high this last month, here is my scenario:

150M pounds is roughly 230M USD, now lets say that if you clear after taxes (they're a bitch) around 105M USD (about what our government would let you have out of the lotto winnings).

I'd start by placing 70M into investments, spreading it out to multiple mutual funds which average a 8-12% ROI per year. This way even if all my investments average 10% profit, I'll be making 7M a year (just in case I never want to work again in my life lol)

The next 20M would go into real estate... Buy/Build apartments, neighborhoods, etc. If you can, build a corporate tower and rent office space to fortune 500 companies. Should clear around 15M in profit each year off that.

The last 15M of my winnings would be a secluded house on a secured ranch, Private plane, yacht, whatever the hell I want...

 

I really don't think that those kind've investments would offer you that kind of rate of return without large amounts for risk. 10/20% profits your talking about rarely happen.

 

Definately would open up a few businesses, retire, and invest in stocks for sure.

 

Most mutual funds with aggressive investment strategies average around a 10% ROI, lowest I've had happen on mine in the last 3 years was 7%. But its aggressive and managed by a investing firm who makes it clear that their strategy is not 100% guaranteed. You can have a year when you lose money because of the strategy, but each month the profit will change around due to market changes.

 

This made me lol too much xD but yeah I guess the lottery is a tough bitch to win, it doesn't look like it'll get to anywhere over 100m again for a while :/ Don't think the UK has lottery tax so its a full on amount ooo

 

I'd invest it on living like a king with my family

 

Any amount over like 10m you can invest in VERY simple things and be able to live comfortably forever.

It's pretty easy to invest and make 4%, which 4% of 150m is 6m a year.

 

Buy the badiest bitch in the game.

What would I do?
Never work again.... Not sure why people would do anything like blow it all or try to turn it into more money. 10m$ is 100k$ salary a year for 100 years. Now i'm not sure about you guys but I'd have no problem never working again for 2m$/year salary for the next 100 years.

Investing it is safer than sticking it in a bank account and that way you make more money. There is no reason not to. It would actually be dumb not to.

How I'd spend £150m:

£1m on a Ferrari LeFerrari and £120k on a BMW i8.
£2.88m on a house.
£2m on charity.
£10m to start a business and investing into business'.
£1m to each of my parents and my brothers (£5m total), £500k to each grand parent (£1.5m total).
£15m on housing estates to rent out etc and for resale.
£1m on things such as a watch, a TV, food, clothes, RuneScape gold, gaming laptop and desktop, games such as CoD, Fifa points and all sorts of other shit.

I'd still have like £100m spare.

I would invest in my college education, a car, driving lessons. I'd pay off Mom and Dad's car/house, same for my bro/sis. I don't know what else though. I'd have to think hard. Maybe start a business or something. Donate to church for sure and then maybe some of my favorite charities.
