People And their stupidity

So many people on runescape are dumb enough to fall for tricks like "doubling money"... Like my friend who gave 20k cash, got 40k back, and then proceeded to give 5m. The guy logged, friend scammed, gg. what do you think?

 

Care to explain in further details I don't understand?

 

Everyone starts in the game somewhere. We were all morons of RuneScape at one point.

 

Reported as spam, he didnt say anything about scamming himself? he said his friend got scammed?

actually the original post earlier was something entirely different talking about password phishing.

Wow, how was he smart enough to get the 5m in the first place? Well I'm sure he learned his lesson (in a very harsh manor). You live and you learn.
Its only stupidity if you fall for something twice imo.

 

With the return of free trade, lots of small scale "crime" has been reintroduced into Runescape. There are even free bots that sit in the GE and scam RSGP from people under the pretense of "doubling" it. Do not under any circumstances (and warn your friends not to) get involved with one of these people. There is no program that can double RSGP, and, unless they will do it in one trade, they are looking to steal your money.

 

I always give them 100k to double and end up getting 200k back. They won't scam 100k.

 

Wow that is extremely dumb... Like honestly how would the scammer profit if he gave away money...

 

You'd be surprised, I did it for fun and some kid scammed 1k.

I gave some guy with a partyhat 1gp and he ran with it, I was so sad that I had lost my 1gp.

OT: Generally most people are very trusting of people. In runescape, there is something called addicted little kids that don't think of other peoples feelings and want to feed their addiction. This is the same concept as what Keyloggers and people that RATs do.

 

What I find worse Is the amount of lvl 136/137s that scam on Dice Bets. I've bet on dice many times and there are many legitimate dicers, but it really pissed me off to find that the ones most likely to scam you have over 100m and clearly you wouldn't expect them to be. I think its terrible they get away with it so easily.

 

I've played RS since 2004, it's kinda obvious for me that's stupid. Maybe your friend was newbie or 12 years old?
