20 Defence Pure - F2P Mayhem!

    20 Defence Pure - F2P Mayhem!

    As you have been wondering about the combat beta, I have some information on F2P.

    The BEST pure in my opinion would be a Range/Mage hybrid with 20 Defence.

    Why? Because they can wield studded armour and spider silk armour.

    After that would be 30 Defence, but there is no new magic armour, only the new ranged armour, Carapace.

    40 Defence, of course, Green D'hide, but NO new magic armour?

    And there's 50 Defence, which has NO new range armour but an intriguing batwing armour.

    Pros and Cons:

    Pros:

    - Unlocks both Range and Magic armour at 20 Defence
    - Better than 1 Defence because of HP boost
    - Lower combat, so you can target mains and pure alike
    - You can mage people in Armour and Range people with less defence

    Cons:

    - Less hitpoints than 50 Defence

    I have found this on Zybez, none of it belongs to me, but here's some information.

    RANGED
    Level 30: Carapace Armour (requires 30 defence): helms, torso, legs, gloves, boots
    RANGED ABILITIES
    Level 1: Piercing Shot (Basic): Shoot your target with a shot dealing 125% weapon damage, or 175% weapon damage if they're stunned.
    Level 1: Snap-Shot (Threshold): Fire two shots in quick succession.
    Level 2: Deadshot (Ultimate): Boom! Fire a deadly shot at your target which deals 150% weapon damage instantly, and a further 200% damange over 6 seconds.
    Level 15: Binding Shot (Basic): Shoot your target with a shot which stuns them for 3 seconds and binds them in place up to 20 seconds. Targets immune to stun instead suffer 300% weapon damage.
    Level 25: Fragmentation Shot (Basic): Shoot your target with a shot which fragments on impact, causing them to suffer damage equal to 200% weapon damage over 6 seconds. If the target moves, the effect is increased.
    Level 45: Ricochet (Basic): Fire a shot which ricochets off your target, hitting 2 additional nearby targets for 100% weapon damage.
    MAGIC
    Level 10: Imphide Armour (requires 10 defence): hood, robe top, robe bottom, gloves, boots
    Level 20: Spider Silk Armour (requires 20 defence): similar arrangement of armour to Imphide
    Level 50: Batwing Armour (requires 50 defence): similar arrangement of armour to Imphide / Spider Silk
    Level 1: Wizard Wand and Book
    Level 10: Imp Wand, Shield, and Book (shield requires 10 defence)
    Level 20: Spider Wand, Shield, and Orb (shield requires 20 defence)
    Level 30 Mystic Wand and Orb
    Level 40: Splitbark Wand, Shield, and Book (requires 40 defence for shield) (might have been a typo when they stated this was F2P)
    Level 50: Bat Wand, Shield, and Book (requires 50 defence for shield)
    Level 70: Ahrims Wand and Book of Magic (might have been a typo when they stated this was F2P)
    Level 80: Virtus Wand and Book of Magic (might have been a typo when they stated this was F2P)
    Runecrafting Robes do not boost Lifepoints and have no magical bonuses but Fist of Guthix Robes do (unsure whether or not this is a glitch)
    Swanky boots and Explorer's Ring have no stats either (unsure whether or not this is a glitch as well)
    A staff is now a two-handed weapon
    Magical Blastboxes are only available for use inside Dungeoneering now; if you bought this item, your tokens will be refunded
    Less runes are used for spells now
    MAGIC ABILITIES:
    Level 1: Asphyxiate (Threshold): Reach out with magical force and choke the life from your target over 6 seconds, dealing damage every 2 seconds. Your target is stunned for the duration of this effect. Channelled.
    Level 1: Torture (Basic): A powerful spell that deals up to 200% active spell damage. Inflicts 250% damage against stunned opponents.
    Level 2: Omnipower (Ultimate): Bombard your target with each of the 4 elements, dealing damage equal to 25% of their maximum lifepoints.
    Level 15: Impact (Basic): Blast your target with a burst of magical energy, stunning them for 3 seconds. Targets immune to stun instead suffer 300% of active spell's damage.
    Level 25: Combust (Basic): Applies a damage-over-time effect to the target, dealing 200% of the active spell's damage over 6 seconds.
    Level 45: Chain (Basic): A magical spell that chains between nearby targets, hitting for 150% of your active spell damage.



    And also read this

    MELEE
    No duel-wielding for F2P :(
    Ring of Devotion has no stats (unsure whether or not this is a glitch)

    There is NO duel wielding for F2P, which makes melee less effective.




    Also

    PRAYER
    Level 44: Overpowering Force: Increases Ranged strength
    Level 45: Overcharge: Increase Magic strength
    Eagle Eye and Mystic Might only increases Range / Magic accuracy now

    There are brand new prayer that increase Range and Magic strength, and Prayer doesn't affect combat level.

    If you were to make this kind of pure, I would recommend:

    80 Ranged
    80 Magic
    20 Defence
    As high HP as possible (possible SW for HP)
    45 Prayer+ (I would say 60+ if you're rich)
    Melee is an option, but won't be as effective.

    Please note that this is only for F2P, P2P will be much more complicated and melee will most likely be the most effective.

    Nice info , so would that mean a maxed 20 def pure would wreck? 40 defers easily? Or only multi poking wise

    Wow the EoC looks a lot more difficult to understand lol so many new stuff :O :O :O Thanks for the guide on making a new acc though :) Maybe ill make one of my pures into a 20 def pure and destory some people in F2P :)

    No problem guys. I think this build would only be effective in F2P, because P2P is a lot more complicated and melee would own (dual wielding, chaotics etc.)

    But in F2P it will be a lot easier to use range/mage.

    If you come to the point where you feel the account is as good as it gets, you can:

    Train up the skills until 99 (not needed, but works better)
    Train up dungeoneering until you can afford gravite shortbow and staff (would make magic hit a lot more and range a little bit more accurate)

    At low levels, it would be more effective, since the average rune pure would have 50 attack, 50 strength and 50 defence. You would have 80 ranged and magic with 20 defence.

    And this goes on:

    90 ranged 90 mage 20 defence > 60 attack, 60 strength and 50 defence

    99 ranged 99 mage 20 defence > 69 attack, 69 strength and 50 defence

    The EoC is very complicated, however, it is more easier to understand in F2P, and of course there will be some noobs pking in F2P, which you could easily own.

    I think this build would wreck most, if not all types of characters in F2P, unless Jagex change anything to do with the combat beta.

    I'm making a pure at the moment, it has 65 Ranged and once I get 80, I'll start collecting zeals for Constitution levels.

    Since F2P don't have rocktails, the maximum hitpoints for a 1 defence pure would be 100-990, which would suck, making them obsolete in PvP.

    This is a cute thread, excluding the fact that no one knows what the combat update will actually be like since it is a beta.

    Making a pure around something no one knows anything about isn't the smartest idea someone has ever had. Beta's can be changed at any time, to make a pure strictly around the idea that we're having a combat rework is silly. No one even knows yet if they're going to keep an old server or not, don't waste your time making a pure till the actual time it's released.

    I know, I will be sticking to 1 defence and 1 prayer until the actaual Combat Update comes into place :)

    I know there's a thread, but this isn't really questions, it's more of a proposition.

    When the combat beta comes into place, I'll most likely make a guide.
