Michael Phelps, Bong!

A photo has appeared on ESPN and all over magazines and the internet of Phelps with a bong.

I'm sure he just apologized for financial reasons - sponsors etc. I didn't really see Phelps doing this, think it's a big deal?

He already formally apologized, so I suppose it's him. But, I'm sure it isn't the first time he's done it. Completely normal though, he shouldn't be affected too much by this incident, it already almost blew over.

 

He was smoking a bong because he can't roll a blunt with webbed fingers.

 

Stupid guy. No doubt he's lost a few million in potential advertising deals.

 

He smokes weed, so what?
You see celebrities all the time who do so many drugs, but no one seems to care? So why care if an athlete likes a nice toke once and a while? Its not like weed is steroids.

Yeah but he's not your average guy, he's the BEST olympic athlete of all time. Supposed to be a role model for kids etc. I personally don't care that he did but I don't think he's smart for it, definitely lost some ad money.

 

Oh well, he is obviously alright to smoke pot and be the best swimmer..so it doesn't seem to be affecting him.

 

He isn't supposed to be anything he doesn't want to. He has zero obligation to anyone to be a role model for their kids.

He apologized because his many sponsors pressured him into it. If he doesn't, he's going to lose a lot of money.
