as it soon will, do you think the sythe community will survive? as no GP trading will probably cause people to quit sythe?

Dont lock this mods with the usual BS about it being in the wrong section

Hmmm, I agree on it will die, there is also nothing left of the Real RuneScape anymore so... yeah.

I'd say it'd live for a year maybe, as people would still use other sections.

Hmm probably. I think if runescape died, as Sythe aims for longevity it would likely switch to a more active market. It would definitely lose a lot of activity for a while though.

i am not for tradings on sythe, i am here for the community, cause the community is great
and it's relative what you mean with rs will die, when fagex makes enough money from it, they would be stupid to let it die
botting will also be possible, so, no i won't leave

How can you say it will die? By the looks of it, if they did die, it won't be for a while. The company itself gains a healthy profit each year, especially now they have advertisements showing up before logging in, SoF, that store shit and the money they make from advertisements on the site. They get a lot of new players, they started TV advertisements, I just can't see it happening any time soon.

If it did die, I can see Sythe still being here, just not as popular.

    I don't think so.
If Runescape DOES die (disappear, completely leaving no market,) Sythe probably will have a huge shortage of users and lots of users quitting because of the market.
Sythe will most-likely lose a lot of its activity, but the community will survive.

Even though they may not be the majority, a lot of Sythe users are here for reasons unrelated to the market.

Runescape won't die. There's too many idiots that will always pay for membership, even if the updates becomes complete trashier than they already are.

Indeed. People don't understand how many people buy spins/stupid ass Soloman's general store items. That alone makes them more profit than half of the memberships.

I can't really see how Sythe or any of the other Botting/Market/Cheating communities will survive. Basically, the majority of Sythes traffic comes because of Sythes cheating and Blackmarket aspects. Without them, we wouldn't have many new users coming by and a large chunk of the current users, who only stick around for the RS part of things would leave. Sure, a small minority of the community would stay, but it wouldn't last for much longer.

I just see it slowing down quite a bit after while everyone who wants to adjust does/tries to.

One of the questions probably is...will a lot of them even bother to try to look into other things? :x As has been pointed out, the blackmarket plays a big role on the site so it's probably down to the market userbase as to how slowed down things will be.

Jagex still has a very very big income, runescape is easily a top 3 [probably top 2] in the MMO world, and with their memberships being cheaper than their big sister [ wow] more people choose runescape. you can say that the game is going to die but then you would be wrong. The game is only changing it's focal demographic runescape has stood the test of time and is still just as strong now as it ever was. people have said rs is going to die since nearly the beginning but there will always be new people who enjoy the game.

I think Sythe would struggle at first, but it would still continue as a leading black market sites for all sorts of other MMORPGs. Don't forget Guild Wars 2 (probably one of the most game changing MMOs to be released in a decade) has just been released with 2million sales already having been made... New MMORPGs will keep being made.

But Runescape will still have a couple of years (3 minimum) of life ahead of it in my opinion. If the new combat system is a success and more dynamism is added to the game more frequently, then I can't see how it will die anytime soon, although there has been a substantial fall in the runescape palyer base recently. I remember when worlds 1, 2, 3 and 4 were all full. Now world 2 has 1000-1300 people on it most of the time....

I haven't been on Skype that long... and I only have 11 vouches. I mostly come here for the community and to help people out with the odd occasional trade; so I think Sythe will do just as well! I also don't think RS will die any time soon. People are panicking too much about the EoC. Just give it a chance!

I think if RS ever dies Sythe will just find a new 'Niche' (not sure if that's the right word) and will find new things to discuss and RS very well may not be the big topic discussion here. Sythe may enter new markets which is awesome to see! :) It will all plan out just fine, don't you worry.

I remember asking this sometime back, I don't think RS will die anytime soon, but it will eventually. As for Sythe, I'd say a large part of it is Market/RS based, but there are other communities and games out there that could possibly bring people here.

Actually more people choose wow over runescape in the top 10 realms on wow theres probably more subscribers than runescape. The game will last a few more years but Investor interests will eventually ruin it. People will still change and as rs community changes so will the sythe community. If runescape does shutdown i can see a lot of people leaving sythe unless our market focuses change.

I always laugh when i see you post your siggy and location are "quit rs + sythe" yet here you are hamming it up in rs gen. LOL

OT sythe has been delving into other gaming markets quite a bit lately in the 6+ months i have been in here i have seen a pretty significant growth of other sections, that with the fact that runescape isnt dying anywhere near as soon as most people seem to think (jagex is still making great money off of it, runescape its still a very viable business and will be for quite some time) this factor along with the markets growth into other games i doubt sythe would have any sort of quick death after runescape. How long it would last afterwards is up for debate, i think by the time rs dies we would have some more significant ties into other games (guild wars, WoW, steam games, fifa ect ect ect)
