Why has the amount of people playing oldschool gone up a lot the past few weeks?

I've seen well over 30k+ peolpe playing it and am just wondering where have all the new players come from?

 

many updates, and eoc sucks.

 

pretty much sums it up. A lot of those players are from rs3.

 

F2P coming soon probably bolstered the numbers a bit, too.

 

This^ - a lot of current players are excited about this update and are creating f2p Pures, or older players who have quit have returned to check out the update

 

The fact that F2p and G.E. is coming soon, more the F2p part.
It's expected for F2p to bring in many new players.

 

It's been like that way before permanent f2p was announced.

 

Probably the knowledge of the updates that will take place.. Once OSRS came out... everyone was playing it... my neighbors were playing it.. My brothers were playing it... even my mother was playing it. Then after a few months.. sure, there were updates but they sucked... and they wanted Pre-Eoc back... and slowly.. the game is coming to that

 

With the 2 week f2p trial people were able to make free acounts from the 4th of feb and then continue on playing since permanent is being released on the 19th.

 

Can't wait for that day to occur Xd, I still don't knoq whether to make a F2P clan or just become a solo pker

 

F2P is coming soon, GE new content and so much more, people are getting back into the game

Let's hope it doesn't flop and after all the updates we lose like half of the players

GE is such a game changer for quality of life in runescape...makes it way more enjoyable ( for most people )

 

Likely due to F2P coming soon. Others, like me, have been making F2P pkers in preparation for the update.

 

I have decided to come back for ge and f2p as with others I would think

 

f2p is coming out soon so I guess that's why. RSPS is better IMO!

 

I'd like to add that a lot of the new players come from watching famous Runescape streamers. Twitch has been a major source of players for Runescape, especially the big boys like Sparc mac etc.

 

yeah, the fact that f2p is going to be free is definitely bringing in more players.
