What's your favorite band from the 70's?

Mine would have to be Led Zeppelin. They had a melody and a special groove that no other band had during their time, and nobody seems to remember them or even knew about their existence.

What is your favorite band from that decade?

 

Queen. My second favorite band of all time, and me being a very big fan, owning their whole discography. Consisted of Freddie Mercury (died in 1991) on vocals, Brian May on guitar, Roger Taylor on percussion/drums, and John Deacon on Bass guitar. Songs you might know by Queen; We Will Rock You, We Are The Champion, Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites The Dust, Under Pressure (Ft. David Bowie). They had a lot of mainstream hits, those are the top 5 that I think of when I think of 'mainstream Queen'.

Not sure. Sabbath, OLD Ozzy Osbourne, and Clapton are all sorta tied for number one in my book. Too many bands to really determine whose my favorite.

Led Zeppelin was one of the most well known bands in the 70's. They're extremely popular. What are you talking about? o.o

Anyways, not a huge fan of the second half of the 70's (75 and above), but, I would have to say Zeppelin, as well. Although, I am more of a 60's blues man.

 

Mine would be Queen too. It was a pity Freddie died though. I'd have loved to have gone to one of his concerts. The new guys who try and impersonate him just fail really miserably

 

I think what he's saying is that a lot of people these days don't even appreciate music like Led Zeppelin enough to even know who they are... which I agree with. It pisses me off when I tell me friends I'm going to an Eric Clapton concert and they say "Who the fuck is Eric Clapton?"

Stained Class and Hell Bent for Leather are classics imo, both released in 1978.
