Athlete Opens Up

Personally, I think the media is blowing this all out of proportion. It's the cover of the new SI issue. I find it awesome that past teammates/other players are very supportive though. He's gotten rep from most of the Lakers' roster, Magic and even David Stern.

 

I saw that, and I'm glad and I remember hearing about a major athlete planning to come out a few months ago.

 

Good for him, hopefully this will happen more and not be a big deal in years to come. I'm not sure I would be so quick as to liken him to Jackie Robinson as some have done, but it goes without saying that this is extremely courageous and I personally hope that being a homosexual in American sports looses its taboo.
