Do you people think this should be an Olympic Sport?

Do you people think Wushu Kung Fu should be an Olympic Sport? It was in the All Shanghai Games, All China Games, TreX games, and et cetera. Do any of you think that this Sport should be in the Olympics? I sure think it does. I think these athletes in China train as much as a Gymnast and is as strong as a Gymnast. I think this Sport is done in a lot of places, China, USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and et cetera.

Here's some clips of Wushu Competitions.

Lu Yong Xu - 10th WWC Gunshu.

Reminds me of gymnastics, but with dangerous weapons. If trampoline jumping/ping pong makes the Olympics, this might also.

Wow, this is pretty cool. Just like what 333 said.

It's basically gymnastics with different objects.

They're not that dangerous, the broadsword is bendable, and is a competition broadsword, it's used for competition and demonstration. Also, there's almost no chance of these athletes being injured, they practice soo much that they know the technique and moves almost perfectly, so if a athlete gets injured, they're not a very good athlete. The only thing I can see happening is a weapon breaking, but your automatically disqualified and get no score. Also, the worst that can happen that I can see with a broadsword is someone poking you in the eye with it, not a very pretty sight.

Here's the athlete doing Gunshu (Staff) in the first post I made, but instead he's doing broadsword.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpA87a_kx1k

You can actually, in the USA there's something called CMAT, and even some athletes from China come across the world to compete on it. I forgot where the location is, but I think it's held in California (not 100% sure). Here's a video of a member from the Bejing Wushu Team, his name is "Wu Di".

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdVM540siPk

It's sort of like Gymnastics, but some moves are different and I don't see many Gymnasts doing those moves, other than Aerial and Butterfly Kick/Twist.

It is very known outside China, a lot of places from all over the world do it, USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Russia, and et cetera. By the way Russia's Wushu Team is pretty good, I think they had a Sifu/Coach from Shanghai teach them.

Yeah, it does look cool. Sometimes it's fun, but they have to train really hard usually, but I guess it's worth being good. But people do Wushu everywhere, I've heard there was even a school in Alaska.

Many events are in there when they shouldn't. Ex: Badminton, trampoline, walking races, etc.
If these are in, so should this Kung Fu dancing stuff.

This is Kung Fu, but people don't consider it a Martial Art, people consider it more of a Sport. I wouldn't suggest you call it "Kung Fu Dancing stuff", you're insulting a lot of people if you say that, besides it's showing that you're ignorant.

Golf may seem simple, but it can be extremely complex in some aspects. Technique is a must in golf, just like any other sport. Though I have no idea what the requirements are for something to become an Olympic sport.

Yes, they constantly train their balance to do stuff like that. Also sticking horse stance really clean takes a lot of skill, so is landing in splits.

There's something called Sanshou or people call it Sanda. I guess they do it along with Wushu in some big competitions. Cung Le also did Sanshou. Here's a clip.

Yes there's a lot of countries that do it, actually they do Wushu all over the place, I believe there's at least one Wushu School in every country.

    1. Canada.

    2. United States.

    3. China.

    4. Hong Kong.

    5. Macau.

    6. Taiwan.

    7. United Kingdom.

    8. Mexico.

    9. Japan.

    10. Korea.

    11. Vietnam.

    12. Philliphines.

    13. India.

    14. Australia.

    15. Russia.

There's 15 countries that do it, hopefully it can come to the Olympics soon.
