Tired of scammer getting second chances.

I am growing tired of all these people with "Trade With Caution" or people with Temp bans. If you are going to scam someone or be apart of fraud, YOU SHOULDN'T GET ANOTHER CHANCE! When you give scammers/potential scammers another chance, they are going to use it to scam again. Most likely their next scam will be a very big one, and some innocent trader is going to come along and lose all of their money to them because they got a second chance for whatever they did.

Bottom line, if you have "Trade With Caution" for whatever reason, I think you should get banned. A Temp Ban is like a slap on the wrist, the person gets mad that they are temp banned, but when the time is up they come back with a vengeance and try and mass scam people. It's bullshit, ban them and be done with it. Tired of it.

Trade with Caution is different, some people get that because their emails get hacked and they don't want others to trade with them.

Also on scammers getting temp banned, I'm 50/50 on that because the person who scammed me is back on sythe from his temporary ban .

 

Yea it's bullshit, the guy in my signature got a temporary ban for scamming me out of 55m, bullshit because he is going to come back, why would you let a scammer come back?!?!?! makes no sense?!

 

No one is temp banned or twc'd for scamming, scammers are always permanently banned. Nate, the person in your profile was given an instant temp ban infraction that sectionals use to ban people (since they don't have access to user banning) until a global can make the ban permanent. Moved to feedback.

He will never be unbanned. He is banned for 5 days, however before those 5 days are up it will have been changed to a permanent ban.

 

Sometimes they're not banned always banned in the 5 days.

 

Yep, they don't always get perm banned by a global mod, last time I was scammed out of my questing service, posted a report, had him get banned. A few days later, I see him in the market again and pm'ed the mod that said banned him and he banned him again...

 

If you guys ever see a member thats needs to be re-banned do not hesitate to send any online mod a quick PM. It does happen occasionally as we are not perfect. We look forward to your cooperation in this matter.

 

But wouldn't this be an indication that we should potentially have more personal manning the mod position? Or even Middleman Position? I understand that ensuring that an individual given a higher power would be a risky and bold action to subsequently commit without give a proper validation, but shouldn't the security of the members of the forum also be given consideration? Yes, there are those freak one in a million individuals who abuse power for their own personal gain and beliefs, but you can't completely abide by those sole misfortunes.

The security of the members on Sythe are what keeps the forums running because it increases business. The more business that Sythe can eventually gain, the more that we can expect the website to receive in revenue. By increasing the amount of potential mods running the positions should be considered so instances like this would be handled accordingly, quickly, and efficiently as possible. Of course, the responsibility of the members is one issue, but you have to understand, not everyone has the same, or even a fraction, of knowledge, or even IQ, that the higher powered individuals possess.

There's only so much that forum members can do without finding out the hard way. Those are my 2 words I have to say.

 

Personally, i think the staff of sythe do a fantastic job.

A few days ago, i was scammed, due to an account, who had previously been banned, but made an account from the same i.p - I'm not sure on the regulations their, but as a whole, all of the OMM's are great people to talk to.

Giddy and Nick, have talked me through alot, and they are the only 2 I have talked too.

I see FireZ doing a lot, and he is a great educator.

So my hat goes off to all of the sythe staff let's keep working towards a scam free sythe

 

agreed with metal, they do a great job. HOWEVER it would also be nice to see even more staff.

 

Not at all times are they even right.. I had a Temp ban before, and it was only because i was wrongfully banned while I was an Mod.

No one is perfect, by anymeans. But, they do their best.

You make some valid points but not everyone is proven guilty all of the time, you must realize.

 

TwC is rank given to suspicious traders, not scammers, scammers are never given a second chance.

Theres a process that the Sectionals must take when banning scammers, The temp ban is a precaution so they cant trade until a global gets on, which then a global Permanent bans the user, the globals get up to normlly 5 days to do this, and its only when we're completely lacking staff or if its at a busy time of the year that this happens, for example: IT happened at christmas once.

 

id rather trade with an 08 that has 100 post then a twc

 

I am happy to see all of these comments. What really gets under my skin is the sheer amount of scammers that are actually using sythe. The numbers are WAY out of proportion comparing legit over scammers. Obviously we can't stop who visits the site, unless they're perm banned already. But, if you think about it, the numbers of scammers on this site. That number will completely blow your mind.
