Gold4rs ad on my emails page.

Checked my email -- the one that is registered to my main, no other accounts, and didn't have anything Runescape, Jagex, or online-gaming related in it; there was an ad for gold4rs on the side:


I assume it's just the Google adsense or something like that, but still -- you got to give them props: for a runescape cheating site, that's pretty impressive.

The only thing I edited was my email address, although I do see how the "M" is covered up, and the copyright date is 2008 -- but that's how it appeared on the site.

 

I don't get what this thread is about.

 

The fact that a smalltime business like Gold4rs is 'important' enough to be appearing in an advertisement on an unrelated email provider.

It's probably just due to the fact that some of the emails he recieved had content concerning Rs and so the smart adsense bot decided he should get Rs related ads.

 

It really is.. Ah well.
Google just puts sites there wich you have visited before, All G4RS has to do is supply a banner and pay the fee.

 

Yes google collects your search & browse information.

Then uses that information to show ads that apply to you.

It's quite the system actually, but for gold4rs to be up there must be costing a nice shiny penny.

 

If it's search info, that would make sense. But if it's information about what was on the page, my email didn't have anything runescape related in it for months.

Probably the first one; regardless, still somewhat interesting.

The cookies stored in your browser looks for your interests and links your ads with them. Like have you ever been searching up new trainers or something and a sports ad comes up? Yeah, that's pretty much that.

 

I doubt it, if you have ever payed attention to those ads, there are alot of smalltime buisness on them, they just happend to be picked since his cookies probably had rs/rs blackmarket related info in them.
