    What's the point in trying?

Death is inevitable. If you think about it, you have already lost, because you are going to die one day.

No one has ever escaped death before, it's the way of life. Everything you do will be worthless in the face of death (your career rewards, your family, wealth, the fucking pixels you spent hours on Runescape to obtain, your penis size etc,)

So this brings us to the ultimate question. Why try?

I totally feel you, and love this question. This is exactly how I felt when Steve Jobs died. It make me realize that nothing, not even an endless supply of money could prevent our inevitable death.

    But why not try?

We have this amazing experience to do whatever we want, and we only have a limited time to do it.

Just enjoy life while it's here because before you know it, you and everyone on this earth that you know, will be dead. But there doesn't have to be a reason for life for you to enjoy it.

    What's the point in trying?

I'm completely aware that I will cease to exist one day, but I plan on having the best time possible and making the most of everything I possibly can. You might consider what you do worthless, but I don't have that mind set of everything is so horrible since I'm going to die one day. Honestly, screw that. Death is a surprise, and life is a surprise. So I enjoy life no matter what I do, and plan on keep doing it down the road, no matter where life takes me, I'm very excited. :D

I don't think life is just a game that you have already "lost", because you will inevitably die, and finding a way to cheat death and live forever would be considered "winning".

Life is an experience that we are all blessed to have, and I think the point of life is to live out this experience fully, and enjoy what time you have on the earth. It is not pointless to try and live and be happy because you will someday die. Often when people have lived a long, fulfilling and satisfying life, they actually feel that they are ready for death - the next greatest adventure. You should spend your time on this earth learning, loving, feeling, experiencing and trying new things, and realizing what a unique and blessed opportunity you have to wake up everyday as a living, breathing, functioning organism.

    What's the point in trying?

Well i dont feel alike i've lost the match against death, i have allready been close to death once in my life, due to a car accident, wich caused me to break my back at 6 places.

The best to do, is enjoy the life as it is, take what comes to you, and try to get the best things out of it.
We may only live once, but who knows? You wont know before you are dead.

    What's the point in trying?

    Simple.

The humanistic perspective states that all healthy human beings strive to reach their full potential, rather it be low or high.

Why not try? Whats the fun in trying? You know why people go to work 9-5 for 50 years and retire? So they can enjoy the rest of their life after that point, or even just the weekends and vacations in between.

Whats the fun in not trying?

    What's the point in trying?

Sounds shitty to me. I'd rather enjoy every single day of my entire life. Not <10% of it.

    What's the point in trying?

How are you going to enjoy your life with no money? Your going to get sick in the streets, and die of some horrible disease that is easily treatable most likely.

One way or another, you need some form of currency to enjoy yourself, ergo you have to work.

    What's the point in trying?

You have to work, to get any money, unless you are born with wealthy parents.

Without any money, its hard to enjoy your life, as most of the fun parts of life requires money.

But still, what can you lose by stribing for enjoying life?
If we dont do anything borring, we cannot do anything funny.

    What's the point in trying?

Make life interesting, travel, go out and enjoy the small things, appreciate each day.
Dont work your ass off and have 6 kids you will have to support unless thats what you want. Lifes short, say to yourself everyday are you happy with everything you've accomplished if you died today, if not work on those things.

Life should be all about sex, experiences, enjoyment, love, living the moment. Nothing else means anything.

    What's the point in trying?

    Put it like this.

We are all Gods in exile. This life, this conscious state, is nothing but a vacation from the mainland (that being, the nothingness of everything).

Vacations have no meaning, but to have fun and do the shit you really want to do, until you have to go back to where you came from.

    What's the point in trying?

why not just shoot yourself in the head right now? I mean you're going to die one day, why not now? it's basically the same question...We try so that our kids/grandkids/etc can have a better life, so that we can support ourselves and our family and so that when we do finally die, we are ready to move on and are satisfied that we've gotten the most out of life. Where do you think the world would be if no one ever tried.

I think people that say "whats the point we are going to die someday, why try" they use it as an excuse, whether they are too lazy to get a job/finish school or just plain scared to try...there is something that makes them feel better by justifying their lack of accomplishments by saying this.
