What's the difference between Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PS4?

I've used a Xbox 360 the whole time and everyone tries to get me to switch over to Xbox One or PS4. What are the pros and cons of each?

 

They're pretty much the same, although I'm quite certain more people use Ps4.

 

Xbox One controller is 100% better than Xbox 360 Controller as well as PS3/PS4 Controller. Feels extremely well made while PS4 controller seems like its made of recycled off brand plastic water bottles

Xbox 360 isn't a next gen.. and it will never get FULL new games that come out.

Xbox one is for a "casual gamer/netflix" and halo series. Also has a very friendly interface which i prefer more than ps4 (i own a ps4) Has probably the best "party" system of any console.

Ps4 is for MLG players / comp players as most games have sided with sony for the next gen consoles, so ps4 will get everything weeks before xbox map packs ect. Downside is the horrid party chat, and interface.

 

Xbox One doesn't provide any special new gaming experience. It's just upgraded hardware, and you will eventually have to buy it when newly developed games stop releasing copies for the older generation consoles.

 

I heard that Xbox one's controller rocks tho.

 

It really does, I don't like the thumbstick placement on the playstation controllers at all. At least the PS4 controller is a bit beefier so it doesn't feel as cheap / flimsy as the PS3/PS2 controllers do.

 

The difference stems from that of next gen as previously stated by other individuals. With next gen hardware you get slight performance boosts and are running most games at 1080p in the 30-60fps threshold.

PS4 initially outsold the Xbox One by a 2 to 1 margin, but the new S has re-vitalized the Xbox market.

Main differences between the two consoles are the interfaces and the exclusive games you will get. There are difference in performance, but they are often meager.

I would suggest going PC before you buy a next-ten console unless you are a very casual gamer (which it sounds like you are). You can pickup a next-gen console for under $300 now so they're no longer all-that-expensive either.

 

There is a reason Xbox is outselling PS4 right now, the lack of user friendly system + updates are killing it.

 

It really will come down to what kind of games you enjoyed playing and where most of your friends are. You may find yourself getting both systems at one point. I'm impartial to the Xbox One based on familiarity, the selection of exclusive titles, as well as the controller.

You may not care about any of that, so it's your call really.

PS4 and Xbox one is 'next gen consoles'. I mean if you want to play new console games you can stick around with Xbox360 for another year max. New games won't bother to come out to Xbox360, as it did before for PS2 and original Xbox.

Choice between PS4 and Xbox one for me comes to the exclusive games. Xbox has gear of war, forza series, halo. PS4 has uncharted series, bloodborne, the last of us. For me I have to go with PS4 with this one, I had Xbox 360 for a long time now, wanted to make a change.
If you care about controlers so much - xbox one is much better for me and it always will be Both consoles have their pros and cons, it depends what you want from a console
