Runescape RWT Ban : How soon does your account get banned?

Proud to say I've never been banned for RWT. That being said, I would like to know anyone's experience with a RWT ban related to gold buying/selling.

Are you banned minutes after the exchange? Hours? Days?

Are you banned while still logged in?

What do you feel you could've done to prevent the ban?

A better question may be, how long after my trade can I be sure I or my customers will not be banned?

 

As far as I know, RWT bans are immediate. I haven't experienced one, and I'd venture to guess neither has the large majority of Sythe users. The exception being big gold sellers. It's pretty commonly known that the risk of an RWT ban is much much higher for the seller than the buyer, and even then, only for very large amounts of gp.

I've bought and sold bils myself, and never had an issue. It helps if you use an older account (or accounts) with some decent levels. Fresh level 3s accepting or giving large amounts of gp is a pretty big red flag for Jagex's bot detection.

Again, most of this is pretty well-known among the black market community.

 

2 days at max... It's not like botting where you can get banned 2 months later.

 

As a gold seller I had an account banned 2+ months after I retired with out any trading, etc. Usually it's instant.

 

Been banned multiple times, every time so far I've not noticed an immediate ban. Always comes hours after a RWT was done, however this experience is only mine, it's not a definite thing that the ban is postponed everytime.

 

I appreciate everyone's responses! Was surprised no one mentioned actually playing on the account every now and then. Actually, it seems MMORPG recommended to only log in for trades. That seems suspicious to me.

I am not a big time seller which may be why I haven't been banned. However, in between trades I train my account using AFK methods and sometimes just play the game which I think has helped me not be banned.

Any reason I shouldn't be doing this?

One thing I noticed when trading in Lumby, people will randomly private message me saying "Can you confirm the rate per M and order total please"

So I imagine people may be randomly reporting users they see trading in/around Lumbridge.

Anyhow, I think I'm done with RSGP trading for the most part, just concerned about my customers since I've been trading risky traders.

I once got banned in 2006, after buying 1M (seriously, 1M) rsgp from a Chinese gold selling website.

 

We have tested both training the accounts and not doing anything but the trades.
Both have had their advantages and disadvantages.

I'm not sure which of the methods we use works, but as R2 says, it seems the bans are almost all done manually. No way to know what they check or don't check.

 

Although I've never RWT'd, I've traded quite a lot of RWT mules for payment for services. It'd probably look very similar to straight up RWT to Jagex's systems but I've never been banned for it.

The only friends I know that have been banned for RWT are the ones who tried to sell/buy a very large amount of gold in a short space of time.

 

Could you define large amount? Kinda worried for my main. Wasn’t crazy though

 

2b+, though I don't know the exact amounts. I found out a couple of years later that he sold to someone in China, so in hindsight I'm not surprised that he was banned.

My account got banned after selling 7bish 07 gp or so

 

u can get banned instantly after trade or a year later.

 

Got banned myself the next day after trading. The account was created back in 2006 and had high total level. This happened back in 2019.

You can never be safe, and its just a matter of triggering the system by trading with the wrong accounts I guess. I cant link to this, but I remember Mod Tyran talked about how this stuff worked on a stream way back. Something about marking an account trading big amounts of gold. Marking all the account that is trading with that account. Then banning them all at the same time when it hurts the most.
