Help I've been keylogged!

Okay I won't say much but this kid was my friend but now he took control of my computer. Im scared to log in to runescape. It scares me the thing he writes, like I'll hack you etc.

So How do i get rid of him????

 

A keylogger is a program that logs what you write, it can't control your computer as far as I am aware :S

 

google maleware bytes, download it. shutdown your pc and open it i safe mode with neetworking run scans with maleware bytes and your anti virus software and it should clean it up, if you have mroe problems pm me.

 

DO NOT LOG IN ONTO RUNESCAPE! The keylogger records all passwords/usernames you type. You should run a anti-virus scan as soon as possible. Do you got proper anti-virus software? Use the free Kaspersky scan.

 

I think not keylogger or RAT but idk which one all I know he can take control of my computer

 

Download malwarebytes and scan your computer. The only thing he can do is steal your passwords, no taking over computers.

 

WITHOUT networking else the keylogger will still phone home what OP types...Please only give advise like this is you are 100% sure what you are on about.

 

If you are still scared after you scan with malwarebytes go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Accessibility > On-screen Keyboard. This is safe to type your passwords in.

 

fair point, im sure it doesnt matter though it works with networking or without, i was just thinking he had a fake antivirus (A) you smart mother fucker
and to the guy above me. you can see what people type with an on screen keyboard with some keyloggers.

 

This is not true. DO NOT DO THAT. It records also onscreen keyboard. It sounds liek he got rat so it wont help him anyway. Just run malwarebytes as stated above.

 

Yes Safemode / virus removal will work fine with networking enabled, but if the virus has duped the computer into thinking it's a system process, it could run in safe mode and continue to do nefarious things over the internet.

Some keyloggers also take screen shots so I wouldn't even use an on screen keyboard to type any sensitive info on said infected computer.

 

if he is your friend, just kick his ass irl and tell him never even think about doing it again. problem solved.

But if you don't know him irl , thats a bigger problem

 

Download Xoftspy or MBAM.!
And why dont you go knock his ass out.. I knows I would.
a friend sending a keylogger? Id teach him to never keylog again

 

If all else fails do a complete factory reset.

 

Yeah Ik him irl but we live far away now but thats not the point, im 80% sure he won't hack me but still just to be safe i wanna get rid of it.
