What can i do if i get scammed?

I tried to buy a level 50 Obby mauler with 99 str, i sent as gift, went first and i got scammed.. What can i do? im currently trying to claim it back as unauthorized, im sure it wont work but i have nothing to lose so..

Can i report him to an internet scamming site? I live in canada and he lives in austrailia, can i report him to some government scam catching site and file out a scam report? If I do, what will happen to him? Will he get caught and can i fine him, etc?

 

Runescape account trading/buying is a very slippery slope

Runescape accounts are officially property of jagex so your not supposed to be buying/selling them in the first place; its really unclear as to what extent the law even plays into this because of this. Chances are, you sadly won't be able to do anything about it in terms of real qorld consequences besides gettinghim banned from the site. It is better to exercise caution to avoid the scam entirely.

If your paypal is funded by a credit card, you can always try calling the company and requesting them to charge back the funds

 

Firstly, if you are using paypal, claim the money back.
After which, report this incident to Sythe forums with screenshots of proves and stuff.

I'm afraid there's not much things you could do other than these, since trading RS accounts is very risky.

 

Legally, there's nothing you can do. The best thing you can do is hope the kid is an idiot and doesn't know loopholes around paypal. If he says anything along the lines of "I sold him virtual currency/characters" Paypal will just cancel everything and you will be left with nothing
