This offence cannot be appealed, because it has been quashed by a Jagex Moderator and is no longer active on your account. There is no need to appeal the offence, because it has not affected the status of your account.

Was it an offense from a long time ago or did they issue it and then quash it in a short period of time?

 

You are an idiot. Let me guess, you received an email with a subject along the lines of "Your account has received an infraction", followed the link in the body of the email and entered your username and password. You were just phished my friend. First step is to change your password, then open the email, click the link again and have a look at the url in the bar at the top of your browser. You could enter anything as a username and the phishing script will tell you you have logged in as the username you entered.

You copied that from the email, that's the hyperlinked url. When you click that it will not be the same in your browsers address bar. Just change your passsword if you dont want hacked.

 

Yeah, it's runescape.com but if someone were trying to phish you they would disguise the link, did you copy that link from the address bar or an e-mail?

 

It's a PHISH. It's a very well known phishing system, that I obviously cannot name, he has fallen victim too. End of discussion.

Jagex will never email you about any given infractions you receive on any of your RuneScape accounts.

There was an article published about this on their website not too long ago.

However phishers are starting to use the recently launched member's loyalty program as a new scheme to phish.

Make sure to always check the hidden link in any email you may receive from 'Jagex Ltd' or 'RuneScape'.

To view the hidden link, simply hover your mouse over the initial link in the email and check the bottom left corner of your browser.

Damn man.... I just read over this thread. That really sucks. You have no idea how many people fall for those fake emails. They are pretty well done I'd have to say. Good luck and I hope you changed your password in time before you just got hacked.

If you end up getting hacked and you lose all your stuff, then let this be a lesson to you for the future, and make a bank PIN! Even if the phisher gets on your account right now, if all your items are inside your bank then your account should be fairly secure. Unless you do not have a bank PIN set... which many people do not. Personally, I always bank all of my items everynight before I log out just to add an extra layer of security. You can never be too careful these days with all the phishing/hacking/scamming going on.
