Is YouTube worth it?

Hey guys, so i've started numerous different runescape channels and YouTube channels in general over the past couple years. I've noticed that over the past year or two Runescape videos have just been going to shit! I really DO enjoy making videos but it kinda gets disheartening to know that every video you post (in my case 15+) are only getting a very small amount of views each. I do however understand you won't get "popular" overnight but it just seems as if Runescape is going downhill so much that nobody is really interested in watching these videos anymore. It isn't just me. It's the large Runescape YouTubers too. Runeshark, chrisarchie, nightmarerh, so wreck3d, b0aty, etc.

Keep making YouTube videos?
Maybe move onto something else? E.g. Call of Duty, Minecraft, etc.

Who says you can not make runescape videos and call of duty, minecraft etc?

 

@Piav- You COULD make all of them but idk.. it might be too much for the viewers. Jumping around to three different games. The way I see it there is 3 different groups in there. Group that likes JUST MC, group that enjoys JUST Cod, and a group that enjoys JUST RS. Probably be a great deal of bitching

I wouldn't listen to these people saying do runescape and cod/mine craft. You might be able to get away with runescape and some minecraft but for the most part people who subscribe to runescape channel wan't to see runescape content.

 

Exactly. I know as a viewer.. if somebody has a runescape channel and they release Call of Duty content on their channel people aren't too happy.

 

lol 2 completely different games if they get upset than they are morons.

either way, runescape isn't that well received anywhere it may seem big because damn near everyone on sythe at one point was part of rs. so unless you got something amazing to show you wont get views after all no one wants to hear about how to do something basic or watch you pile\pk especially if you're not good at it as I've seen many sythe users do. I've never seen your videos so I can't judge by you these are just my thoughts on the whole situation.

the idea to get views is either be explosive joke around etc. no one likes monotone boring shit. and as said before life is short time is important no one wants to watch something they can understand by reading a small paragraph do videos that are unique.

 

If you enjoy runescape videos. Keep doing them. You get views right? Even 1 view is success. 1 view is more than 0 views. 10 views is better than 0 views. You will gradually get popular and you will expand into other games. Just don't do it for the "fame".

 

I think you should invest in a service which sells Youtube views & subscribers. This will allow your videos to come up more often in user searches.

 

Start a channel that is GAMING based and isn't bound to a particular game. Then you can expand onto any game you'd like and have a bit more freedom.

 

It's worth it if you enjoy it, if not then i'd say it isn't.

 

When the 07 servers come out, try and get YT famous then. If you can at the start people will keep watching you.
