Last Movie: Clash of the Titans

Decent movie, CGI probably a little over done and acting could've been better but not bad for a 2010 movie. Might watch the next one tonight when I've got some spare time.

 

Down Sizing

I’m sure everyone saw commercials for it, however; it’s a humor/Sci-fi film about a new discovery/break through technology that allows people to shrink to 5 inches (give or take)
& live in a community for those “small people”
Your wealth gets basically multiplied by 70-80x due to the new size reduction.

The plot of the movie is amazing and I really anticipated watching this film.
Unfortunately, it took a LOT of turns down paths in which I didn’t think were best for what this film could have been.
The ending was abrupt and seemed careless.
I don’t want to ruin any of the details - but because
So many great actor’s made an appearance in the film, I thought it was going to be a lot funnier and a lot more enjoyable.
It’s worth watching, it is entertaining, I just had really high hopes for what it could have been & it was so far outside of the way I anticipated it would go.

Life

A thriller/Sci-fi movie based in outer space.
Following a bundle of astronauts that have been on an expedition of encountering new life on mars.
Lots of suspense, good story line, good ending.
I recommend.

Name of the film: Bright
Brief review/thoughts: Wow, what a film, really like the way they incorporated fantasy within the modern day world. The actions scene were very cool and i thought that the movie is well acted overall. The only downside of this movie is that we don't see enough of other races (think i saw a dragon at one point) & the war against the dark lord 2000 years ago. Really hoping they make a prequel or sequel to this movie because i enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for recommending it @Katana

Name of the film: Blade runner 2049
Brief review/thoughts: Decent film, woulda unsderstood deckards position/role a lot more if i had seen the original movie but i still enjoyed the plot never the less. Only thing i didn't like about this film is the ending & the death of joi was a bit obvious lol.

Name of the film: Emelie

Brief review/thoughts: It was pretty good, don't want to post any spoilers in case anyone is planning on watching it, without spoiling: it's about a psychotic babysitter, Normally if a thriller is boring I'd just turn it off after 20 mins but this was different, really felt like I wanted to find out what happened next. Wasn't a let down.

Rating (out of 10): I'd give it a 6. Worth a watch if you like thrillers and looking for something. Only reason I'd rate so low is that I have seen many thrillers, one of which was pretty similar and at one point I actually got a feeling of Déjà vu.

 

The Killing of a sacred deer

Odd Film, some good star’s in it, that’s really the only reason I chose to watch it.
It’s a “psychological thriller”
Which I suppose in some aspects was true.
The film was based on a Greek mythology story, which is quite evident after the film is over because the plot and story line are never explained, they just happen.
The ways things occur never get touched on in detail, so the entire movie is a guessing game.
Didn’t much care for it, odd ending.
Odd film.

 

Definitely was a stellar movie. I went into myself with my girlfriend expecting some half-ass crap, but turned out being pretty impressed with the overall direction the story line went.

If you haven't seen Martian with Matt Damon in it you should check it out, another good space movie. Interstellar is by far my most favorite movie though, the complexity in it and the plot is too good. By far one of the best movies to come out in the past 10 years.

 

American Made:

8/10
Good film, I like Tom Cruise, he gave this character that added edge.
It’s a good drug runner plot, one different than the typical “Scarface” or “Blow” drug movies.
This is a stand up guy that gets involved in a slew of different things.
Very entertaining, good contrast throughout the movie on the “value” of money. (You’ll have to watch and see if you can pick out what I’m referring to)
Overall, definitely worth a watch!

Also really enjoyed interstellar.
The last 4-5 space movies I have seen, I really thought highly of.

 

Another good one, probably impressed me the most given it's overall "genre" was "The Space Between Us". It's a decent movie as well considering it's a romance type story line but it's done pretty well.

I mean I don't think I've watched a romantic movie since I was like 7 when my grandma forced me to watch one with her. Oh, and that time I watched "The Notebook" and cried...

Average couple get together, get married & start a life.
The man begins to suffer from mental health issue’s and the story unravels.
Base on a true story.

Worth the watch if you’re skilling or something on RS.
Decent film, Ryan Gosling is a great actor, so he made the film.
It was a different role for him to play, so that was cool to see how he developed the character.

 

Title: Arrival (2016)
Genre: Science Fiction
Review: Arrival is a excellent movie with a weird and strange story line which has you watching every second to get more. The movie does a get job at unraveling the whole thing right towards the very end which doesn't leave you feeling lost or cheapened out. It's a space/alien type movie with a twist added within it to give it a unique feel and definitely a movie that needs to be seen by everybody since it's nothing like what's been done before.

The actors are amazing in the movie featuring one of my all time action actors Jeremy Renner in it, Forest Whitaker and the excellent Amy Adams which all pull off an amazing cast together in this movie.

I rate it 9.5/10 and definitely recommend it to anyone looking to watch a spacey/alien type movie with much more going for it. You won't be displeased.
