I think I've decided on this. My only fear is it coming without a charger, but a lot of the stuff I've read about open box is that the models rarely are damaged beyond minor cosmetic stuff and generally include everything. If it does come without one I'll just order one.

After the ram upgrade, the OS, and the SSD added it came out to be $1229. That damn MSI was sold out when I woke up. I was pissed off. So didn't think it was too bad. I couldn't find anything with a decent SSD, and i7, and the 860m for anything close to that.

I was looking at just the pc from xoticpc and it was about that specs for under 1000, I didn't notice it didn't come with an os. Well this is the new age, there are many ways to fill that void without paying ;-)

That's true but as much as I'm a pirate I don't want to have to deal with messing around and hacking an OS.

Imo, should have paid the extra ~250$ and got the one I ordered. Has a 4810qm, 12gb ram, 870m and 128gb sad and Windows 8.1 and it's 17.3 inches. I think it would have been a much better deal for you. The sale is still going. You get a free 199$ software bundle and a free 12000ma external charger, and a msi backpack. I think it adds up to being almost a better deal. You could sell the charger, software and backpack for maybe 150$ all together so the total is only like 100$ more.

It's really as simple as running a program (Remove WAT) once you've installed the OS.

I only had $1200. I went and got a loan, paid off my insurance for 6 months and got it. I could've got the 4810 for $50 more I think.
