this guy got my ip

So iwas buying rsgp and he told me he would sell on msn.Then he sent me links to his "thread" they were random links and they both said 404 not found,i X-ed out of them.He then said which ones your ip and named 2 ips,one which was mine,can he do anything?

 

Be aware , use Anti malware bites, so you can kick him from your cp as he might be a key logger.

 

If he has ONLY your I.P. adress, not much to be concerned with your RS account. However, he could I.P. flood you and destroy your internet for a bit.

do chat websites like swiftirc give out your IP's?
theres this clan I'm about to join and they want me to camp
in their clan chat channel there at all times and I notice
whenever I go in it it shows my internet service provider.

 

Most official and popular ones don't, however there is always a risk of your IP getting leaked remember.

 

He cant do too much damage, and hes probably to dumb to know how to do anything anyway. People can easily get ur IP, through msn and ventrillos and stuff.

 

Yes, many people do not know this.

But moderators of irc channels can see your ip adress.
I have heard of irc mods selling ip adresses from high risk pkers etc.

Nah he can't do anything except send thousands of messages to your computer which will lag you and potentially cut off your internet for a while (not long, like up to 20 minutes) if he has over 5 computers all flooding you, which chances are he doesn't!

 

The only thing he can do is ddos you..

I highly recommended you turn your router of for 5mins and turn it back of

Because doing this changes your ip

 

It changes your private network adress, not your routers outgoing ip adress :\
Only if you use don't have static private adresses either.

There are ways to do it though,
one I can guide you through if you want, the other one is contacting your ISP and requesting a new ip adress.
